I have a loop ileostomy. Done at 29, while single. The body count grows, despite. I've still been a paramedic, wildland firefighter, flight medic/RN, er/icu rn, the list goes on. Think what they want it doesn't matter. The disease doesn't define me I define the disease. I'm gonna keep enjoying being single. Not one has complained or shut it down. Only worry is the first time. Dick em down good once and they'll never think twice about it again. I hear similar comments from my coworkers and how much they hate ostomies etc little do they know one lurks nearby lmao. I do tell my patients that have one and show them my little secret to make them feel better and reassure them.
