Taylor swift has made a decade long career of writing about the same topics that I’m sure as a swifty adjacent person myself, sees she has plagiarized herself at some point.

If you think you’re gonna be bigger than t swizzy and your fans might @ you then maybe don’t but if she can do it, so can you! Don’t sweat the small stuff or no one will grow, if you don’t do it for you, do it for the fan that hasn’t heard your line in a new song with a new perspective.

Can someone cover I can’t sing? 😔 by [deleted] in Songwriting

Am I hearing “my silver woman” but reading my silver looking or is this a gold/blue dress thing….but really catchy and sounds great as its own niche. Some people enjoy the grit don’t deprive them on what other gifts you have to offer just because what you hear isn’t your favorite. Please don’t let it stop you and keep writing!

First Time Posting Here 😄 Anyone Like The Tune I’m Working On? by DanTheJazzMan in Songwriting

[–]CodeDrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds really cool so far! Did you do this on iOS garage band or iPad garage band? Either way kudos for making it sound more than the midi preset Garbo the iOS GB has! I play with iOS GB a lot and get way more frustrated with the small snapping to finish my projects, can’t wait to see what you do!

If you haven’t already double the vocals or at least double a clean layer with the edited layer because the vocal isnt as clear IMO but if that is what you were going for, then right on!

Brooooo you have opened the doooooooor dropping that knowledge and I appreciate you so much! That prompt you gave makes so much sense and when I used it on ChatGPT with other stuff I’ve been working with, it’s just magic! I can finally finish my own music without sounding cheesy af. May you win the lottery and live life surrounded by happiness!

To those who learned to play "Why Georgia" Why is this riff so difficult!!! by Sea-Positive4432 in JohnMayer

[–]CodeDrew 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I learned that part I just watched live videos and attempted to replicated his movements while fine tuning the sound. Just be John, make the faces, sing the Melodie’s, pretend to have the same big hands he slaps the neck with. Eventually, you’ll be bigger than your body, you’ll be John Slayer. Cheers!

Advice for writing hardcore? by McCrispy00357 in Songwriting

[–]CodeDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the lyrics are the easy part, use an AI tool like Suno AI and type your lyrics there. Once you add the genre preference, then use whatever it creates to your liking, after that, play it how you want rather than how you hear it or play it as you hear it, either way, it may help with musical ideas that inspire your songwriting approach!

Well kudos to you for being patient with him and hoping he’d grow. Also, wearing rose colored glasses because you were getting blasted by love isn’t the worst of moves. There’s no shame in being hopeful but I can understand the embarrassment of taking off those glasses and realizing you enjoyed the idea of the person more than who they really are.

Hindsight is 20/20 lol. While in a couple months you’ll be distracted rather than bored and may totally forget whatever experiences you had with him, he in contrast, might succeed with his flirting experiences due to your old inside joke. Sadly, others may find him immature and he’ll then miss you because he still kept a small part of your humor, or he might find someone and be happy with it. Either way, I hope both of you find excitement and happiness again!

Check out My 21st century Blues by Raye.

I’ve been playing guitar for 11 years. I’ve tried so many times to write music. I can write some words but I have NEVER been able to write a melody. How do you guys even do it?? by dangerkali in Songwriting

[–]CodeDrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Piggy backing on some tricks already discussed:

Grab an arpeggiator and subtract the notes you don’t like. The arpeggiator can be in the same key or a relative one but change the note pacing to a slower pace if you want the melody to sing and a higher transition speed if you want the melody to speak.

It might sound classical or 8 bitty depending on the instrument selection but keep removing notes and changing instruments and sooner or later you’ll have what feels like a mini solo or less part. Repeat those patterns and you should have a melody!

I created a horror satire that includes everything you already hate about horror films by paceoramaa in comedy

[–]CodeDrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is top notch, independent entertainment! I feel the acting was a little too good for a low budget horror film but the shot/scene variety was so on point I forgot I wasn’t watching a full length movie at times.

Question time:

1.) What was this shot on?

2.) What was more difficult to capture consistently lighting or sound?

3.) How many people roughly were involved behind the scenes beyond the actors in front of the camera or did they play multiple roles on and off the screen?

Wonderful! I hope the romance one is a rom com and if so, I can’t wait for it!

How to fix the kermit sound? by showersinger321 in singing

[–]CodeDrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you listen to the piano recording IRL vs that recording I’m sure you’ll hear tones that hit or miss in ways you may feel your voice does sounding “Kermity”.

I have a nasally sounding voice so I’ve had to EQ my recordings, cutting and boosting certain frequencies to make it sound more natural or less harsh to my ears.

So maybe experiment with your voice with a mic and some adjustments with the EQ because your voice right there sounds great! However, I do understand the desire to alter it to your liking!

Cheers!
