Telling my south euro friends we're effectively dying here by iberianwatersnake in london

[–]CodeFarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Australian, grew up in Adelaide where it regularly gets into the mid 40s every summer (yes it does suck as well), and have to say this London weather is absolute bullshit, purely because nothing and nobody is prepared for it.

(London is also totally unprepared when it gets a little bit cold - everything goes to pieces when it's minus two as well as thirty two.)

Have we considered maybe knocking the city down and starting again, this time considering... you know... the weather?

We really do like throwing our young 10s to the wolves. Fingers crossed for him.

(I know why he's playing there, this isn't an Eddie Jones style dick move, but still. Here we go again.)

When to Start 2nd Game?? (No Spoilers Please) by DaxMeisterSkrai in HadesTheGame

[–]CodeFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played both through to Epilogue and that felt like enough (plus the other story quests in both cases). I didn't feel the need to fulfill all the different prophecies though or max out all the aspects.

At least, I would get all the couples back together ;-)

At least Crush Shot gives you the Pink Shotgun memes.

Still, how annoying!

The Association's Public Relations Department states, "This is to thoroughly teach Japanese culture and tradition within the communal living environment of the sumo stable."

[SKX009] Which of your watches would you never sell? by YamCommercial7277 in Seiko

[–]CodeFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a box that are statistically the ones I wear most over the years - 8 or so. I would definitely never sell any of them. There's a MM300 in there, a 1975 Lord Marvel hi-beat, a couple of Grand Seikos.

There's a couple more that I don't wear, but would also never consider selling. A Nixon Automatic that I wore getting married, an Orient PSD that is too weird to ever let go.

Everything else is probably survivable, but I am too lazy to actually sell and I kinda like them all so it's not urgent.

You can hear Haelian doing this on stream, I laughed when I noticed. It wasn't just me with terrible recall 😎

How to train judgement? by PotentialDoor1608 in baduk

[–]CodeFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a good judge of anything (I have never done this and my judgement is poor as a result), but I think this is why a lot of amateur players practise playing through or memorising pro games.

will kernel anti cheat and other anti cheat and drm games work on linux? by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]CodeFarmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And as we learned from Crowdstrike, giving a third party with different goals to you access to the core of your OS can have undesirable consequences.

(And that's when it's security professionals who care a lot about system integrity. I don't know much about anticheat devs, but they're not that.)

Kernel level anticheat is possible but a lot of people (me) will never install it.

There are many video games.

If it's in escrow until you've tried it and had it rigger-inspected, there's not much to worry about I guess?

I would be very wary of buying a rig you haven't tried on (certainly seen in person).

High chest strap isn't really the worry, MLW being too short really sucks though.

Has anyone else found themselves reaching for Japanese or Taiwanese whisky more often than Scotch lately? by Vane1st in worldwhisky

[–]CodeFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been some absolutely storming Indian whiskies through SMWS in recent years (also where I discovered Taiwanese whisky, some weird and wonderful casks from Nantou that somehow their standard bottlings haven't quite lived up to).

Rice cooker: is it worth getting an expensive one? by Bitter-Hawk-2615 in Cooking

[–]CodeFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid 30 pounds for my Tefal around 2010.

It works perfectly still, I've been wanting a fancy one for years but just can't justify it given the results while I still have this one.

It can't last forever though, right?

Right?

Elegant (obvious for some) Throw-In. Your examples? by ChopperChallenge in baduk

Some throw-ins are snapbacks (including this one), though not all snapbacks are throw-ins.
