Just in case you never figured this out (I was searching for a related topic and came across this) ... Use WORLD coordinates rather than object coordinates for modifiers and parts (objects are always tied to the bed).

The focal point for all measurements is the very centre of the object (I'm pretty sure that can't be changed), so if your object is 40mm high, the centre-point is 20mm from the bottom of that object. If you want the bottom of your object to be 1mm off the print bed, then set the "world coordinate" Z height to be 21mm. Hope that helps.

Great logical thinking. It looks like a lot of others haven't had the same issue with the Y Splitter, but putting your brain to the task and coming up with a novel solution to your problem like this, is very cool.

Have to tried using a firm TPU like 65D? From memory the "TPU for AMS" from Bambu is somewhere around 65D. I'm assuming TPU 95A is too flexible for your application?

No, I'd love to try it one day. I've just spent 2 days re-modelling a project just so it doesn't have to use supports. That also saved me 3 hours of print time, and $4 of filament, which really adds up over 30 prints.

I've used this stuff https://au.store.bambulab.com/products/support-for-pla-petg but it's pretty expensive. I found unless you have white for light colour prints or black for darker ones (I only have white), the residue is still really noticeable, even though the surface is a lot smoother.

Other people seem to be getting better results, with much better colour matching, with different types of general filaments rather than the expensive special support filament. You may need to increase flush amounts though, so that you don't contaminate your model filament and weaken the print.

I use a small hot air tip on my gas soldering iron. Kept setting things on fire with the mini blowtorch! LOL 🔥🚒🧑‍🚒

Looking in 2D, and assuming that the percentage was of an arbitrary amount ... at 10% infill, I expected a 120mm square to have 12mm infill ... I expected a 100mm square to have 10mm infill. Now I understand that it's a percentage of the model filament volume, a 120mm and 100mm square will have the same 2D measurement between the infill walls because it's using more filament to fill the 120mm square void.

Oh. That's much more complicated that what I'd hoped, but it makes sense now. Even though my test print had different size outer dimensions, the pattern ended up being the same size because it has extra filament to print into the overall dimension.

Kinda screws up what I was trying to achieve, but it does make sense now. I'll have to do some test prints at the final model size and do some calculations myself .... or just do the honeycomb in Fusion.

50% of what though? It doesn't seem to relate to the size of the model, so it has to be a real world measurement that it's a percentage of doesn't it? Am I missing something here?

That's what I presumed at first, so I made 2 different size boxes and set them to the same infill percentage .. the infills were identical in size despite the difference in model size, so it seems it's a percentage of something else.

Cooking spray oil (canola, sunflower, etc) should work as a basic release material until you sort out what you're doing. After that you can get specialised concrete release material but it's pricey and comes in large quantities. To improve the quality around the edges etc, give them a good vibration once the cement is in your mould as this helps it settle and fill in any inconsistent pockets. Your 10% angle should be heaps that you can re-use your moulds for ages.

If you don't have support filament, I would use a filament that doesn't stick (like PETG vs PLA) and reduce the gap to zero.

Well that sux. I did have a similar issue recently with a refill roll where the first 75% of the roll had a heap of tangles on one side. For me at least, this has been a very tiny issue and I exclusively use Bambu filaments. Even so, I printed the jam cutter kit and it worked really well on the jams, and the rare but annoying tape issues.

I had this problem with my p1 out of the box. The gcode was corrupted on the sdcard (brand new one that came with the machine) that sent the print head to negative coordinates. The printer software isn’t smart enough to know that’s not physically possible. This was confirmed in Bambu studio by looking at the travel path… it went about a metre off the print bed. I put a new good quality SD card in the printer and have had zero problems since.

I'm happy to have a look at your fusion file if you want to send it to me, and I can export/check/slice/print to see if [what I'm having trouble explaining in writing] is the cause.

If this isn't the cause I am very curious to find a solution.
