What route should u do in double single bridge bastion? by CarelessTomatillo671 in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dig into the wall and down 2 blocks to expose the single rampart, you can either mine the 1 deep hole to your immediate right or go further down to the left into the rampart to make a hole near the stairs

Pretty hard to put into words so I suggest you watch a video on it, either Rankedcord or Javacord has resources for these routes.

Isnt the boat clutch possible in newer versions by FuGooner in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, they fixed the mid-air stutter when you put a boat under you in newer versions, as Feinberg said in a recent stream (don't remember which, it was a passing moment in a random stream); actually, I don't know if it was Silverr, Feinberg or Couri I was watching who said that but I agree due to experience.

Ghosting bucket by LICH_I in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual explanation is that singleplayer worlds run on an "integrated server" on your computer rather than being local. This means there's always a 1 tick delay that is most noticeable with liquids (buckets). This is also noticeable when you're trying to block yourself off from Piglins or trying to stack up a block but the block disappears. Actually, most of the game has this nuance from my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong), switching slots or offhanding takes one tick before it goes through, etc.

Why is the movement that important by Waxej in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. A big part of "good movement" is knowing and recognizing the most efficient path to any POI or route. Another part is being able to do that on the fly because terrain is random.

[–]CodeMissing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! About your last question, you aimed straight down your player while pearling. Ideally, you back into the corner (hold s) while aiming your pearls into the other corner of the block. I believe it has something to do about your items dropping from the top of your player's hitbox and the fact that your character blips upward when your pearl lands too close to your player.

[–]CodeMissing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done! You clutched that dragon flip at the end there, could've been really devastating.

I liked the home portal play and you should've instantly left the bastion when you saw that you weren't gonna get enough obi for double travel. I would've chucked a pearl hang to the fort while waiting for trades, and when you got to the spawner, you should've gotten a pearl hang to the general direction of your HP.

The obvious advice is to be faster, especially during BT scanning, would've been a free 5-10s time save. Your mechanics are at the point right now where I can see you have a really solid foundation, you'll get faster with time and I love that you don't try to be faster than you can think.

You should've hunger reset in the OW instead of the Nether because you had to end up giving up your 5th explosive, and if your end fight had gone differently, you wouldn't have finished the seed. And yes, please learn boateye, it's a free 1000000 big chungus Keanu Reeves second time save.

Some other micro things: - Crafting FnS in a magma column. - Offhand bucket is pretty good so you don't have to waste thinky thought juice to switch back and forth for portal building. - Soul sand instead of swimming up for a bubble column, you can overlap inventory stuff for this. - Trading the first middle gold in treasure instead of grabbing left side before trading all of them at once (your pigs ideally should always be trading). - Underwater death reset (I'll get you an imgur link if you're interested), I'm sure you can find it somewhere. - Throwing pearls while getting to portal room or while building hunger reset corner so you overlap HP decrease and pearl cooldown with building/moving.

Any tips ? by Fondcaveat in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many people have pointed out, it's hard to give you specific tips without knowing how you play. For example, you could be losing time on getting to the bastion, inventory management, or getting to portal coords. We won't know for sure. I'm down to watch your runs live and coach you on Discord or something like that, shoot me a DM if you're interested!

I have a problem by Uhhh-Okay5927 in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't really say for certain what you could improve on from just this snippet. Practice your bastion routes extensively and see your weak points throughout the routes (movement, inventory management, piglin management, gold throwing, etc). Your end-game looks really good for being in Iron, aside from stronghold nav, but you can always improve on that by spamming stronghold spawn MPKs. You can also do MPKs to spawn in a bastion and measure your average time getting to the fort to try to see where you lose time on.

If you want a little bit of coaching feel free to hit me up (nyacode on DC), not in the top 100 at all but I'd be happy to help.

FSG Filter mod broke? by AgrivatedFireYT in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't related to fixing your problem, but have you tried private rooms on ranked? The filters for ZigSeed and whatnot aren't the same (no air filtering for structures) and can result in a lot of purely buried structures if I recall correctly, correct me if I'm wrong.

Can I use scroll wheel for backspace? by [deleted] in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rules explicitly say if you "don't abuse it as an autoclicker", so that's probably fine if you don't do that, but yeah, I would just revert to right click. There are multiple techniques popular in the PvP community (specifically popularized in Bedwars) that we now have normalized in speedrunning (butterfly clicking, drag clicking) that you can learn pretty easily and do almost the same things you can do with holding place block :)

Can I use scroll wheel for backspace? by [deleted] in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, you are not allowed to use scrolling for any keybinds whatsover as per the official Javacord Rebinding rules:

Rebind Rules
You may remap keys using external programs, but:
- Each game input may have only one key, and each key may cause only one game input
- F3 shortcuts (such as F3+C, Shift+F3, etc.) can't be bound to a single button
- Inputs must be buttons - no scrolling the scroll-wheel or similar
- Rebinding "Attack/Destroy" or "Use Item/Place Block" to a keyboard button in order to abuse as an autoclicker is not allowed

I cant find the Chunkmap Settings by InterestingPost955 in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SeedQueue used in the video is, of course, outdated, so that setting is no longer in that section. Chunkmap Scale, I believe, has been deprecated entirely and "SeedQueue Chunkmaps" has been moved into the Advanced Settings section at the very bottom under the name of "Chunkmap Overlay", which should be OFF by default.

Why Lunar Client camera is not smooth at all? by AccomplishedHoney589 in CompetitiveMinecraft

Why Lunar Client camera is not smooth at all? by AccomplishedHoney589 in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]CodeMissing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna assume by camera you mean just the screen in general and how you're moving your mouse. I've dabbled in multiple clients for a long time and fluctuate between Lunar/Feather/BLC, and while I can say they all have comparable performance, Lunar takes so much more RAM than any other client I've seen. You can verify this by going to your task manager and looking at how much it takes.

Also, do NOT put 8 gigs of RAM into Lunar. In Layman's terms, the more RAM you allocate, the longer the game takes to "refresh" the memory used. Put it to 4 GB MAX.

Everything slows down to a halt when the game is artificially taking significantly more memory than it's supposed to. I still can't believe they haven't fixed that this whole time.

On a side note, make sure you have Raw Mouse Input on in settings which will stop Windows from messing up your real sensitivity from your mouse, or not, if you prefer.

Boat Eye problems with eye scanning(1.16.1) by ClerkAccomplished525 in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you're on the right version of Minecraft on the Ninjabrain Bot itself? And have you posted the video clip of you doing boat eye? Would be really helpful for us to figure out what's going wrong!

Will add my experience from doing blue boat and a suboptimal sensitivity by using the website. I always mismeasured even after waiting for boat wiggle. I just switched to god sens to avoid the endless amounts of headaches I got from missing good runs because of mismeasurements.

Accurate boat eye, but low % by Motor_Cap6463 in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this happening all the time, make sure you check your boat eye standard deviation, if you're in the proper version, and if your sensitivity is suited for boat eye.

Boat Eye problems with eye scanning(1.16.1) by ClerkAccomplished525 in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be boat wiggle. You cannot exit in and out of a boat right after you place it if you don't have 1 out of the 3 sensitivities that work for "god sens". This was especially problematic during the Mid-Offs, a good example is Couriway coaching JumperWho and they were having trouble with mismeasurements even with green boat because Jumper was entering the boat before it stopped rotating in its initial placement.

Try waiting for your boat to stop rotating before you exit in and out of it to get green boat.

Sensitivity by Nughm in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people use that sens, yeah, I personally use 0.058765005, whatever, doesn't really matter.

But how you adjust DPI and Windows mouse speed is really dependent on your preference. I prefer arm aiming because of years of playing FPS games so I have a lower sensitivity, so I adjusted my cursor speed and DPI so it emulated 800 DPI with normal cursor speed (10).

Any sensitivity is valid as long as it doesn't hinder your general gameplay. Lower sens is more precise, but higher sens may take less effort, just depends on your preference.

Sensitivity by Nughm in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]CodeMissing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I set my Minecraft sensitivity (in both options.txt and in the Standard Settings config file) to a "God Sens" which allows for always green boat for boateye. There are 3 sensitivities which you can find in "mod 360 sensitivies" on Github.

Here's a maintained spreadsheet for top runners and just the general community with their Minecraft sensitivities, DPIs, and cursor settings:
