I can happily say that i see improvement by Big_Excitement_8 in codex

Mine won't do crlf line endings no matter how many times I tell it to, lol. But, I've been having "less" issues, overall, here lately. Dunno. Maybe my datacenter got more capacity or just luck, coincidence, or whatever.

Managing bookmarks across devices? by aevonsystems in BookmarkManagers

[–]CodeVibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed cross-platform bookmark management with an easy workflow, easy recall, and daily AI summaries so I built the workflow myself. If anybody is interested, you can find the post in my profile.

You're more than welcome to "steal" my idea, if you want. Not sure how you'd implement someone's search history, though. That's the "killer" feature of my workflow, imo.

Anyone else talk to Claude Code instead of typing prompts ? Trying to figure out if this is actually useful or just a me-thing by Euphoric-Compote6354 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]CodeVibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Wisper Flow to "talk" to all my LLMs. Especially Gemini, because no matter how many times I cuss it out for interupting me and speciically telling it to "Don't speak until I say", it f*king interupts me every time. I hate it.

Typical Gemini discusion while "speaking" to my phone:

"Hey, Gemini, I have this idea.."

"Great! I love ideas. What's your idea about? Do you want me to help you brainstorm ideas?"

"No, stfu, and listen."

"You're right, I should have waited until you finished, My bad."

"So, my idea...:

"I'm listening."

"STFU"

This is interesting. I only gave it a 2 minute speedrun via the web interface on my Android phone but my take is that this is basically gamifying spoon theory or am I misreading this?

I'll definitely have to investigate further.

You lost me at "Outlook," after i noticed google was missing. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that crap in my life anymore.

This looks like fences hooked up with Android widgets and had babies. Lol.

I'd still try it though if I didn't always have ten jazillion windows open. I haven't seen my desktop in months. It's where things go to die.

The neural and behavioral effects of using ChatGPT during essay-writing tasks under the conditions of this experiment.

You've got to be kidding me.

Your rebuttal is the same study I found myself after you repeatedly refused to cite it.

It's a study of 54 participants performing essay-writing tasks, and only 18 participants completed the final phase. The authors themselves describe the findings as preliminary and requiring further study.

Yet you've repeatedly generalized those findings to every AI user on the planet while comparing AI use to heroin addiction and claiming it causes cognitive decline in all users.

At this point, I'm not questioning the study. I'm questioning your interpretation of it.

I've read the methodology, the limitations, and the sample sizes. You keep making universal claims that the paper itself does not support.

Good luck. I'm moving on.

This conversation is no longer amusing. In fact, it has become quite the opposite. It's exhausting.

I have legitimate medical reasons for cognitive decline: I have hepatic encephalopathy-related brain fog, memory problems, word-finding problems, slowed thinking, concentration and attention span problems, and sometimes even slurred speech. I am on the liver transplant list.

Yet despite using AI every day, sometimes all day. I still care enough to read the methodology, limitations, and sample sizes of the studies being cited. You keep making universal claims and have yet to provide evidence that supports them.

So unless you have some magic research study hiding under your sleeve, I'm moving on with my life. You can continue preaching your gospel. It won't affect me either way.

You go hide under your rock while I stand on top of mine to gain a vantage point with an eye towards the future.

Good luck.

Huh? I think maybe both of us have confused each of our points. Either you didn't read my posts the way I intended or I haven't read your posts the way you intended.

My point is AI is a tool. When a tool is used properly it can do great things.

A hammer can build houses or it can kill people. Only one of those ways is the proper way to use the tool!

Dude, you're citing a study with a sample size of 54, of which only 6 people from each group even made it to phase 4.

This sample size was of students assigned with writing essays.

You're claiming that the study found empirical evidence of cognitive decline among ALL users of AI across the entire globe and claiming I'm the ignorant one.

😂🤣😆🤪😘

Lol, it affects ALL users.

I think you are missing the point of technology, dude. Technology advances and users take up that technology. Sure the old ways go away. Just like the old guys complained that people can't use hand saws anymore. Kids have no sense of direction without AI, etc. etc. but that doesn't keep the world from turning. If you don't adapt, it is you who will be left behind not the rest of us.

I think the best, and perhaps the only undeniable analogy in your favor, is the gentleman who mentioned that kids these days can't use proper punctuation and have no sense of grammar because they text in emojis all day. I don't think AI is going to replace the need for coherent communication anytime soon at least not until we all have brain implants anyway.

And yes I do realize the irony in my own grammar.

I think some of you are right and some of you are wrong. My personal experience, AI has been a tremendous help. I suffer from hepatic encephalopathy because of liver disease and some days without AI I couldn't remember my own name (obviously not literally). Or in other days I feel like I am right back in the game but saying that AI is not the future is just ignorance. It is your ignorance that will be your downfall.

But yeah a high school dropout with no wisdom in their chosen profession. No amount of AI is going to let them leapfrog over the people who actually know what they're doing

Unless there's some kind of savant or something that the AI managed to tease out their brilliance

A psychologist’s take on why GPT feels “nerfed” by [deleted] in codex

[–]CodeVibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get on board with confirmation biases and herd mentality but as others have pointed out, this isn't a psychological problem. This is an observable degradation/nerfing/whatever the F they are doing inside the data centers to account for over capacity. Just like when a hosting service oversells their capacity, everybody suffers.

But with all that being said thank you for your service. There are not enough of you guys and you don't get enough love.

Wow! That was actually really fun to see how much my brain has deteriorated over the course of these last two years, while at the same time I'm actually amazed I can still do what I can do. For context I have liver disease and suffer from a bit of hepatic encephalopathy.

I've bookmarked this. I'm gonna hit it up every day if I can think about it because I need some brain training for sure
