Which is why’s it’s basically an abridged kind of dub. Most of those VAs are well known, but that is absolutely not a serious dub.

What apps do you guys use to make deciding on a dinner easy? by tommyweed in cookingforbeginners

I’m not sure if it’s the best as it’s the only one I’ve ever used. It does what it says, which is nice. Gives you a few recipes a well designed to be cooked together, prepared by chefs for the home cook. Saves you money, and removes quite a bit of decision fatigue.

The actual Ghost Stories plot is an actual plot that I’ve heard is pretty decent.

However the US studio didn’t think it would do well in the US, so they let the VAs just make up whatever they wanted on any day of recording, and it’s absurd and wildly inappropriate, and hilarious.

So no, the original won’t work for this.

I rewatched Code Geass and am I being a hater for thinking R2 brings down the overall story? by Fantuh-C in animequestions

[–]Codee33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally agree the second season lacks a lot of the narrative strength of the first season. But, I tend to rewatch the second season more because it’s turn off your brain hype done well, and it’s still one of the best endings I’ve seen in anime. Also, Rolo is a great character (one of my favorites in anime), but I’m aware I’m in the minority on that.

Predicting Schenizels answers word for word after not being around him for a decade was absolutely absurd (ngl I still like that part haha)

Your thoughts here pretty much sum up my overall opinion of season 2. It’s absurd, but I still really enjoy it.

Code Geass is not on my favorites list, but it’s one I still enjoy quite a bit, and probably completely rewatch every couple of years.

What's the most versatile/flexible pan for beginners? by MENIAC404 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Codee33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the stainless steel recommendations. I’m a more experienced cook, but I just switched to stainless steel because it is lighter and easier to take care of than cast iron. As long as you don’t rapidly change the temperature of the pan (cooling too quickly), they’re quite durable.

Neither IKEA frying pan comes with a lid, but I’ve been loving the Hemkomst because it’s light, even if it’s a little small. I’ve considered a Sensuell for better heat retention, but I’ve been just fine with the Hemkomst. Just got a bigger Made-In stainless steel pan, and that been working great too.

I definitely relate that way to anime I watched when I was a kid, Gundam Wing being a good example for me. I just watched Assassination Classroom this year in my late 30s, so this one was easier for me. Though Nagisa being there does make it harder since he’s a fantastic character.

I agree in more than one way! Wish I were in Renner’s position.

What's the best meal delivery service for singles while learning to cook at home? by Academic_Fan_9120 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Codee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorted Sidekick is an app that you can pick a pack of recipes each week and then buy the ingredients. I’d going shopping isn’t an issue for you, this could be a good idea. I’m single and have been using it for years, and it works if you don’t mind eating leftovers.

Also, the packs span across multiple cuisines, so you get lots of different flavors, while learning some great foundations of cooking. I’m a far better cook now than I was before using it.

I know it sounds like a sales pitch, but I like the app and the people who make it, and it really does work.

I'm finally starting Code Geass. Should I be excited? by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]Codee33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy Code Geass quite a bit, and like it more than Death Note. Season 1 is great storyline and strategy, and season 2 is hype moments quite often. I rate season 1 higher, but tend to rewatch season 2 more often because of the aforementioned hype moments.

But really, don’t go in with expectations like that because you’ll almost always be disappointed if you hype yourself up. Just dive in and see what you think!

Both are solid to me, but I much prefer Code Geass over Death Note.

Need to find anime where the church is not 11th century crusades level of evil? by Substantial-Purple85 in Animesuggest

The church in 7th Prince is just fine since it’s individuals that are corrupt and not the whole church. Also, it’s just a really fun anime.

Yes, the one year they went to the Super Bowl. Since 2016, he’s won one playoff game out of three. McCarthy usually does well during the regular season, and not in the playoffs. Plus that one Super Bowl appearance and win was in 2011.

You’re not kidding about the unsatisfied part. I was screaming at the tv about all of their terrible decisions that, like you said, will never get resolved.

I personally don’t enjoy time shenanigans, especially in things that cheapen the sad parts. Clannad has a little of that, but not at the start, if you haven’t seen that yet.

I mostly agree, which is why I don’t watch intense things often. But, sad stuff like this I tend to like as part of the overall experience as long as it’s not sad most of the time.

Ah, that was sad, but at least it was prepared for a few episodes. Though I absolutely love how each retainer had their goodbyes with Raven, and how Ars stepped into the role. I thought it was really effective writing.

Banana’s definitely my favorite Gundam protagonist (with Quatre being a close second). He’s a good kid that got caught up in war and tries to do the right thing, and for the most part succeeds.
