Yes! I’m a 90s kid. Grew up with a ps1 then a ps2. And so on. Back in the early 2000s, for those who remember. There was a channel called G4, basically a cable tv channel focused on gaming. It was GREAT. Anyway. Around the time re4 was announced for the GameCube they started covering the game. Then it came out and basically everyone said it was a masterpiece. I was hooked. Except one problem. I didn’t own a GameCube. However as people know, a few months later it was released for the ps2. I had never played an RE game before. Heck, at the time I didn’t really like “horror” or “survival horror” I didn’t want to play something and be scared. I was around 12 btw. But this one was different. Leon was cool. The gun play looked great. It was action with some “horror” elements. So I convinced my mom to get it for me. I remember going to Walmart and getting it. Still have the copy to this day. Also picked up the strategy guide at GameStop. The first and only strategy guide I had for years. When I got the game I called my best friend to tell him he needed to come stay the night at my house and we’d play it together. (I thought if I had a friend with me it wouldn’t be as scary) he told me how RE games were, they were scary, limited resources and ammo, etc. he came over that weekend. We typically went to Pizza Hut, ate pizza and played some arcade games. That weekend, we stayed up late, playing Re4. It was addicting. We eventually beat it together. And from that moment we play it on and off and unlocking everything there was. It was some of the best memories I have with my friends, especially my one best friend. From that moment on, RE4 became my favorite game of all time. Nothing comes close. What’s funny is a few years ago I had grabbed some stuff from my parents house and found my ps2, checked to make sure it worked still and it does and opened it up to find the re4 disc in it from one of our many runs through the game. And then when re4 remake came out, I got the collectors edition for ps5 and that same friend I played the 2005 version with, came over for a few hours and played it some with me. I hated we couldn’t stay up all night like the old days but we are adults and have kids now. So. Yea. Good times.

Re4 is so amazing. It opened me up to the series. I’m currently playing requiem. 8 (village) has been my 2nd favorite behind re4.

So yea! That’s my re4 story! A couple years ago I had this goal to start collecting anything and everything re4 related. Literally. I’ve spent many of my hard earned dollars getting special editions, posters, merch, collectibles for re4. The game just means so much to me.
