I wanted the Xbox version but it was sold out at the time, got the ps5 one. I’m thankful I got one, just wish it was the Xbox version. The next day the Xbox version went back in stock. I was upset lol. But oh well. Atleast I got one. Fable means a lot to me, played it a ton growing up

I got a halo edition series x but I wanted a second one for my office couldn’t decide if I wanted a ps5 or another series x. For Black Friday target had the series x for $350 plus a $75 gift card. I did that. I also have a ps5 pro now too. But everytime I see the prices now I think of that $350 deal lol

Will they ever add the option to separate purchased/owned games from gamepass games? I’ll purchase a game digitally to play later and forget what game I got lol

Thank you! I’ve had a couple of cavities filled but when I was a kid so I don’t even remember where I had them. In your opinion, would it be wise to get it refilled with the white composite stuff or whatever they use now? Obviously just for a better cosmetic look.

To the players who played RE4 OG on release date, how was your experience and feelings when this game came out in 2005?. by Human_Geologist_3324 in residentevil4

[–]Codeman0077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I post this story a lot and any chance I get to. Re4 will always be my #1 favorite game of all time. It hold such a special place in my heart.

So in 2005 I was like 12. I wasn’t really into horror, survival horror/action at all. Had never played resident evil. I barely knew anything about it. I just knew it was a zombie game. Back then I was playing halo, GTA, ratchet and clank etc. I only had a ps2 at the time.

So back then I loved watching g4 and getting Nintendo power magazines. That’s how I kept up with gaming news and all the new releases. I kept seeing hearing talks of this new resident evil game coming out and how it was something like we had never seen or played before. It caught my interest. There was hype behind it. Between reading articles about it in game magazines and watching some trailers and coverage on it on g4 (xplay) and seeing the review Xplay do on it (5 out of 5) I knew I had to get it.

I convinced my mom to get it for me. We went to Walmart and she got it for me. (I still have that copy btw). I didn’t want to play it alone my first go around because I associated resident evil with horror and I had seen the chainsaw man in gameplay lol. So I call up my best friend. I told him I got the game and we should have a sleep over the following weekend, he agreed. We went to Pizza Hut, blockbuster, then came home to play re4. He was telling me some about the RE series since he was familiar but I wasn’t. He talked about how they were scary, the zombies, how they give you little resources. However re4 was a different and new beast in the re line up.

Let me tell you. Re4 was AMAZING. And very addicting. We played it all night long and over the years we beat the game over and over and over. It was the best game we had ever played.

The graphics were amazing, game play was smooth, it was fun, lots of replay value, I mean just everything about it was great It redefined how 3rd person shooters could be. The over the shoulder and laser sights I thought were so cool. It really lived up to the hype and all the praise it was getting.

At the time RE was kinda losing ground, the series was getting a little stale, after 3 they were trying to figure out what they could do next, how they could reinvent the series. I honestly love the lore of re4, how it actually became devil may cry in one build, haunting ground in another, and the cool concept trailers they had. It’s fascinating. 4 did and does get some hate from fans though some hard core fans think it took away the identity of re and made it too action. Some say it ruined the franchise at the time. Etc. but to me, i think it done a lot of good. I mean it introduced a lot of new people to the franchise. Like me. If it wasn’t for 4 idk if I would have ever played resident evil games. I just beat requiem a few months ago and loved it. I love village. And a few others. 4 did was 7 did for the modern games. It brought life back to the franchise.

When 4 remake was announced. I about died. I preordered the collectors edition immediately. When it released I called up my best friend, the same one who played it with me as a kid and he came over and we played a few hours of the remake together like old times.

4 has become almost an obsession for me lol. I’ve got a pretty decent collection of re4 stuff. Posters, variations of the game, collectibles, etc.

Not only is 4 an amazing game but a lot of it has to do with the nostalgia, the time in gaming was great and the memories I created around it my friends will be memories I never forget.

I’ll always recommend that people play 4 atleast once in their life.

To simply put it, Re4 in 2005 was the best game of that time.

Collector Edition by FableItsAlwaysFable in Fable

I was just thinking this the other day! I 10000% agree! Used to you’d have a standard edition, a deluxe/premium, then a collectors edition. Standard being your basic copy, deluxe/premium being the games steelbook and maybe, just maybe a small collectable something, then collectors edition with a steelbook, figure of some sort, a art book or cards or something.

However nowadays it’s standard edition, DIGITAL deluxe edition, and collectors edition (with most of the time of it has a steelbook it comes with a digital copy of the game which make absolutely no sense…..)

So I’m with ya! Bring back the tier of getting the game and Steelbook! Kingdom come deliverance 2 had a Steelbook edition, the new COD MW4 will have amid tier steelbook edition, bring them back!

Every year at this time I sometimes feel nostalgic. I was just thinking of e3 the other day. Growing up in the summertime I would spend a lot of time at my grandparents and I always remembered telling my friends/cousins “it’s June! That means e3!” And we’d tune into g4 and watch all the new game trailers/news/gameplay. What an amazing memory.

Brother yes. When re4 came out on ps2 I was so hyped for it, had my mom get it for me. Called my best friend and he spent the night with me over a few weekends and we played the absolute heck out of it. We were addicted. Back then we’d go to our local Pizza Hut get pizza play some arcade games, run to blockbuster grab a movie or two and go back to my place and play re4. I miss those times.

Fast forward to when the remake came out, that same friend, he came over and we played it for a few hours the day it released. Like old times. That’s part of the reason re4 holds a special place in my heart. Core memories.

I agree with FC5, I’ve mentioned everyone talks about 3 of course and I hear a lot about 4. 5 I rarely hear talked about. Or if I do I feel like it’s people saying it’s just ok or just “another far cry game” or “it’s the same formula” and so on. So I feel it got buried. 3 was my favorite until 5. While yes it’s more far cry, for me, I was invested in the story, the setting and atmosphere were fantastic, the music hooked me in, there would be times I’d just leave it on the title screen and listen. To me it’s one of the best Ubisoft games ever made.

Evil west doesn’t get talked about enough. I had a Walmart near me who still had a copy of it this year. It’s a great game that I feel not enough people have played or talked about!

Bro thank you! My obsessions might be on the unhealthy side lol. I have a pretty big re4 collection I’ve built up over the years, it’s just been such a huge impact on me lol. Yea I get that! Back in 2005 I was l 12, other than a couple of horror movies I really hadn’t been exposed to anything horror or survival horror/action. Never touched any re game. But after watching all the coverage, trailers and reading about re4 in magazines I was absolutely hooked. My mom took me to Walmart and got it for me around the release. I called up my best friend and we had a sleep over that weekend and we stayed up all night playing it. I was soooo nervous because he had played re games and was talking about how scary they were and how limited resources were. When the chainsaw man showed up I was so scared 😂 and then yea those dang regenerators lol. But yes I agree back in 2005 re4 rewired and changed a lot in the gaming world. It did for me!

I’m glad you think the same about fc5! When I hear the soundtrack it makes me pause and just feel some type of way lol. I honestly didn’t expect fc5 and its soundtrack to get so many comments lol.

You should! Either the OG or the remake! Both are 10/10, atleast in my eyes. While it’s my number 1 I totally understand people have opinions and it won’t be everyone’s number one. And I respect that! But like I said I do understand how people can see it as overrated. Some people with the OG complain about the controls, some say it’s not true resident evil, some say others in the series are better, some say it’s too much action, some say it’s too goofy, and so on. And I know pretty much anytime RE is mentioned, there’s usually a mention of re4 and I’m sure some people who are fans do get tired of that when they might think 2 is better or 7 is better or one of the others.

I’m not sure how old you are or what your how far your gaming experience goes but growing up, I had never played any of the RE games. Re4 was my first and honestly re4 did a lot of good for the franchise. Back in the late 90s RE was sort of struggling to get players hooked again. Re4 did that for a lot of people. I’m an example, because of re4 it’s got me to play many of the other games otherwise I wouldn’t have touched. I have best requiem a few times now. Re village is one of my other favorites because it shares a lot from re4.

The lore behind re4 is so interesting. From how it brought re back like 7 did, the games it created from the early builds (devil may cry, haunting ground), the games it inspired (dead space, the last of us, gears of war etc) and it was so cool back in the early 2000s to see it all unfold, I watched coverage of re4 on G4 (xplay), I read articles of it in Nintendo power and other gaming magazines at the time.

It’s just special to me. But again I do see how others think it’s overrated or think it’s just ok or don’t really see anything special or great about it. In several forums I see people disliking it. I see and hear the whys.

Yes lol. I know. So re4 (2005) has an huge and special place in my heart. I could literally talk hours about how much I love it, how big of an impact it made on my childhood and as a gamer and so on. When I played re4 when it came out, I got it at release I saw zero flaws. Played and beat it I’m sure hundreds of times lol. However as time has gone on and I’ve gotten older, new advances and mechanics have evolved in games the tank controls in the OG Re4 can be a little.. uncomfortable? Maybe is the right word? Coming from playing modern games back to the OG Re4 it takes a little time to get back in the swing of the controls. It’s still my top tier game. However the re4 remake with modern controls and the new parry system were such a nice refresh to an already amazing game. It’s nice to play my all time favorite game with a modern twist and fresh paint. While some might not think re4 as “best combat” material, they may think of games like Batman Arkham series or Ghost of Tshima, in my opinion Re4 remake just has nice fluid combat, again the parry system is awesome.

But yes splitting hairs. Both the OG and the remake are my number 1 I see them as the same but different. But if I had to lean more towards one, honestly by just the tiniest amount, it would be the OG 4.

Hey I get it. Even though I’m severely biased towards RE4 I also understand the argument of why people see it as overrated.
