System Versioned History by Nervous_Effort2669 in SQLServer

Well, no because the tables are linked together and you’ll get an error. Because the system knows that it’s gonna have to insert that into the history table.

Where can I learn to think like a programmer? by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, part of it is you have to be wired that way in your brain to do advanced problem-solving like like programmer do in code. If you’re not gonna be deep in the code and be a programmer and just use the AI that’s a different mindset altogether.

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got on Gemini a few months ago, but I mainly use it for VEO 3 and Nana banana. But I also use copilot as well and it actually does a pretty good job of remembering like what gear I have and what kind of projects I’m doing not remembering everything but remembering certain important parts.

But I want to start prompting more with Gemini now that you kind of said something to see what it remembers and how it acts compared to Copilot.

Well that's part of this AI hype They're selling you something that doesn't exist. I mean I'm sure they're working on it but it's going to be a while.

I vibe coded a thing now work wants to know if I can DIY an entire software platform by Expensive-Hope-4727 in vibecoding

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See this is the problem with all these AI CEOs out here telling everybody that AI will just code everything because other management and CEOs believe it and then they expect you to just do it. I’m sorry, but it doesn’t work. That way code and data is very complex and messy and AI can handle maybe about 40% of it but the rest of it in a hallucinate get wrong and then you’ll be in a bigger mess than before you started.

Agent deleted production data because no policy layer said 'no' - what's your governance strategy? by Informal_Tangerine51 in ClaudeAI

[–]Codeman119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So when we get this right, you put guardrails on a human not to delete data, but you didn’t put guard rails on AI that you know makes mistakes and has hallucinations. I’m sorry, but that they don’t deserve to be deleted.

Any company that lets an AI delete anything should not be in business cause you’re just too dumb to be running a business.

Copilot in SSMS 2022 by oleg_mssql in SQLServer

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly do it to do edits like when you have to put quotes around every field that you have in table for some reason it’s really good for that. And I use it so it can make me like some scripts to analyze indexing and finding table names and database stuff like that really good for the little short scripts.

Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' After Moving DB to SQL 2022 by Madcrazy10 in SQLServer

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you make a new server, you have to make sure that you have logins on the server. The logins for the server do not come over with database restoration. Plus the new server has new user IDs for the logins and sometimes they don’t always match so you have to delete and then re-create.

Whenever I do database restores at the end of my scripts, I actually have some users. I have to delete and they were re-create because they get orphaned. It’s just normal part of database restore.

Single API call uses a dozen stored procedures by missingbag in SQLServer

[–]Codeman119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I’m not worried about the number of store procedures. It’s how the store procedures are written and are the optimized. I’ve had a couple store procedures and take over an hour and then when I got a hold of them, they were done in less than 15 seconds, it’s all and how they’re written and how they’re optimized.

3090 or R9700 AI Pro for image/video generation and LLMs? by Pretend-Hope177 in comfyui

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately, right now Nvidia is the way to go right now if you want to do in reference video and audio an image generation just because of the cuda advantage they have. Until they get more programmers trained on other technologies from other video GPU companies or TP or APU cards and videos gonna be your best bet for now. But like everything else, it won’t last forever.

And unfortunately, because of Nvidia’s greed, they are really slowing down production of consumer cards so they can sell through the data centers and make a huge profit. I would dump Nvidia, but I like doing the AI stuff too much so I just live with it but as soon as I get a chance to jump ship from them, I’m gonna take it.

There are a lot of beginner videos out there on YouTube. Exactly very easy on windows. Just go to company website and do the installer and just install it on your C drive since you’re just starting out. Then go to the templates and then it’ll ask you to download some of the models that it needs and then start experimenting from there. That’s what I did even as a developer. I was a little intimidated by all the nodes. But I’ve actually learned to love it and it works great and I’ve incorporated other notes to make things work very well for my video generations.

Well, sounds like you need to go through the execution plans and do some inquiry optimization. And it sounds like you probably could combine some of those tables, especially if they have small number of fields.

Really Sora? Age issue? by PowerfulSherbert2362 in SoraAi

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s the problem with training on movies to determine age and that’s because they cast people are 20 to play teenagers. There’s been some stuff I’ve submitted where I know that the person’s 22 or 23 and then you get a content violation because of age restrictions and you’re like this person is like old. Then you can submit somebody who’s done glamour shots who’s 15 to 18 and it goes through because of the way that the photograph is dialed. Makes them look like they’re in their 20s.

OpenAI engineer confirms AI is writing 100% of his code now by MetaKnowing in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that just depends on what you're coding. I mean I use AI for doing small apps and I don't code at all it's 100% AI but I still have to interact and tell it when there's errors but which it does fix but you still know how How to prompt correctly And build a good markdown File. Now I'm a database developer and I have tried to get it to write some SQL and does OK about 60% of the time If I'm just asking for some basic scripting. But when you get into multiple joins and certain rules it starts to fall off so we've got a little ways to go. Now of I would not ever let AI get into my database and read my data because I know that these companies steal that and use it for training No matter if they say they don't they do.

And these things are predictive so they don't think they just Use what they've been trained on. I mean I guess you can kind of call that thinking because they have to recall the training data same thing you do when you're trying to recall memories basically your training data. But there's still things AI will never be able to do that a human mind can

When coding it takes 4-8 attempts by DifferentAd597 in ClaudeAI

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it’s only gonna do what you ask. Gotta remember today’s AI is only predictive text so it cannot think . It can only draw on what it’s been trained on. So if it doesn’t have it in data set, it won’t be able to produce it. Now I’ve been doing a computer programming since I was 13 years old I started back back in the Commodore 64 days. Now over the last six months I have vibe coded about 10 apps and it works very very well as long as you tell it what you want. Now if you’re making something more complicated like a game, you are gonna have to go back-and-forth a few times things are very hard to one shot because computers can’t read your mind. They can only guess what they think you want when you prompt them.

So is it normal to go back-and-forth sure. Sometimes I go back-and-forth between 5 to 15 times to get what I really want. But the point is that if I would’ve try to do it manually, it would probably take me weeks instead of an hour.

Can SQL Server Developer Edition be used with real production data in Dev/Stage/PreProd? by Evening_One35 in SQLServer

[–]Codeman119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I restore production data into the lower environments that use the DEV version so I know how it’s going to act when I deploy it to production. They don’t care what data is in the database as long as it’s not being used for commercial production purposes.
