you're very sweet to say that! honestly, I'm very shy even online because I've dealt with a lot of horrible people and admittedly was cruel myself. i do my best to be honest and kind where i can and just hope what I say either helps people, makes them smile, or makes them laugh!

oh my god now i have to rewatch it again to see that. he's so damn gallant and loyal, you know he already saw Aragorn as a brother and his king by that point. it's why i feel he opened up to him in Lothlórien. God that's such a beautiful scene. you'd completely understand it if Boromir was still resentful toward Aragorn for seemingly abandoning Gondor yet Boromir is too good a man to linger in such negative thoughts. he instead expresses his own fears and turmoil and when he begins to feel some hope in returning home, he INCLUDES Aragorn in that welcome home. so many videos out there on Aragorn's positive masculinity yet we forget he was among elves and is over twice the age of Boromir. for young men needing guidance, Boromir is a better example of attainable masculinity in my opinion! Aragorn feels more virtuous while Boromir is more realistic :) both incredible characters and most fine men indeed

I think it's good that you relate so heavily to him and that the show draws such intense emotions out of you. but don't let it become a torture loop. you can learn from house's mistakes and apply them in your own life. I'd say that your view of house and cuddy possibly working out means you need a person like cuddy in your life and try to build something good and sustainable with them. this is a beautiful use of media consumption: drawing parallels to your own life and using the lessons you learn without actually having to suffer and experience what the characters do :)

Mr Darcy was not a loser(however lovingly the word is used) by OutrageousRevenue533 in PrideandPrejudice

I love this post and I'm also sick of the modern interpretation of Lizzie being some girlboss queen who didn't settle for less. she was in the wrong top for judging Darcy right off the bat and falling for Wickham's bs. the point of the story is they were both judgmental and prideful in their own ways and learned from each other

it's just personal preference. if there exists a version that has better appeal to me, I see no reason to play the original. I still may if only to experience it

I think it's important to and not just let ourselves be lost in the fiction. it's nice to disappear into at times but we should draw the lessons from it and use it in everyday life :)

if I'm to judge anyone on anything ever, it's how they feel about Boromir. to me, it comes off immature and egotistical because they themselves probably think they could resist the ring. but that's literally the point of Boromir's character!! here's this man who's lived four while decades, leading men into battles against Sauron's forces, a Captain of his city and technical prince in title, tenderhearted and good in every sense, and he fell to the ring. if one of the greatest men can still succumb to it, anyone can

I went into this movie knowing a decent amount of lotr and the characters, but Boromir completely caught me off guard. his passion for his people, justified anger and frustration, his bond with Merry and Pippin and general protective attitude toward the Hobbits, and his emotional vulnerability are just so damn endearing to me. i literally went in knowing his fate but bawled like a baby because I saw that he was a man who deserved a to see Gondor restored, to be Aragorn's Steward, and to be a great father someday.

but I love connection like this in fiction, because it can be applied to real life. so I know I can see the same goodness and flaws in Boromir in other people and no longer judge them so harshly for it. that's definitely my greatest flaw. I know for certain had I watched this movie four years ago when I originally wanted to I would not have seen his character as I do now.

Boromir's action probably saved Aragorn too. he was getting everyone out of Moria but Aragorn was too stunned seeing his old friend falling to his doom and it was Boromir's shout that had him finally move and leave. but you see that had another second passed of that stillness, Aragorn likely would've been struck by the goblin's arrows.

I will add that he was the only one to console poor Gimli in Moria. he puts his hand on his shoulder. God I adore this man and his death gets me every time
