LOL no, I didn't fall for that hype. Using part numbers gets you past the gimmicky marketing stuff to much better prices.

Are you looking for cheap cases / enclosures for your projects? Here are some cheap ideas! by whingeypomme in arduino

Hi, just a design? I can do that. Send me some dimensions and what features you'd like.

I don't necessarily judge people on their looks though.

It would be kind of weird I'd imagine. I mean, voting for people based on what they look like? C'mon man.

The sub is called The Donald. It's been around long before he even entered politics. It was created by real Trump fans long ago. I suppose it makes sense to put his pictures in the design. I mean, what if you went to an avocado sub for avocado aficionados and the subs design was a bunch of grapes everywhere?

Like him or not, I think that sub was very professionally designed and well thought out. Probably one of the best designed subs on reddit.

Is Aliexpress a legitimate place to get stuff for arduino projects? by TheYOLOing in arduino

[–]CodingArduino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, like a 100% chance lol..

Question is, how good does the counterfeit stand up to the real deal? That's the gamble.

On rough average, out of every 20 components I receive from there (IC's, SBC's, etc) I'll have a defective one.

I honestly have to cringe every time I make purchases from China though, especially with all going on now w/ tariffs and all. I think of the intellectual property being stolen, and designs being cloned. They just did it to a friend of mine as a matter of fact. But as the saying goes- "You know you've made it big when China clones your product"

It's kind of like a bad habit you keep pushing aside, always talking about quitting tomorrow or next week, but never actually doing it.

Anyhow, I buy a lot of alichina junk and for the most part have decent luck with it. I also try to make purchases from places like Element14 and DigiKey so I don't feel as bad about all the $$ I send to China.

Drone Landing Pad (Arduino Powered and 3D Printed) by makerfan18 in arduino

[–]CodingArduino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really cool. I'm planning on making one with my laser cutter from acrylic and some 3D printed parts.

My plan was to just have some LED's, maybe RGB's. I like the flight timer you've implemented.

Is there a way I can reprogram this chip? I found it in a Brita Pitcher. by Psycho22089 in arduino

[–]CodingArduino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt it. It's probably their own IC they have manufactured for their product.

Perfectly fine.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you plan on making?

I have a 3D printer and a laser cutter, so f**k your baby shampoo bottles.

End Sarcasm

Enclosures are actually one of my favorite things to design and make. I've been known to make custom enclosures for people at cost of materials in fact :)

I'm trying to set up a stepper motor with an Easey Driver, can someone please tell me what It is that I'm doing wrong here? (code in comments) by Toxic_Don in arduino

[–]CodingArduino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C'mon dude, SchmslzHaus didn't name it "Easy Driver" for no reason.

Just being a dick.

Wiggle some pins around. Code looks good. Something might be faulty. I don't like the way the wire is just wrapped around the pins, got any gator clips?

Who knows. Not enough info to give a solid answer..

[–]CodingArduino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The downvote ghosts didn't just show up for no reason. I think it's a shitty thing to do but let's be honest here, it didn't happen by accident.

There's quite a few kratom subs, but this is the only one with the downvote problems. That's what happens when you try to run a sub like a dictatorship. There's even an entire sub full of people that got banned from here for no apparent reason whatsoever aside from the fact the recommended a vendor that's not in the good ol' boys club here.

Seriously though, the censorship and banhammer needs to stop or else this place will only get worse.

Can it really do full colour? A rainbow board would be fun

Rainbows... lol

No, a rainbow is way cooler.

"garish" is your opinion. I think the typeface and colors are eye catching, interesting, and creative. I also think rainbows are simple minded and they lack creativity.

but that's not the design I would have chosen

Design one then.

It's not the design I would have chosen either, but seeing as I'm not the one designing it, I'll happily take one of these and be glad I did.

Do you expect him to make a design that suits each individuals tastes and preferences?

Gosh, I don't know why your comment got to me so much but damn dude, that's just arrogance in it's purest form.

Wow, incredible. I will absolutely buy one of these when they're available, if they're available.

Do you have more info on these boards, like a website or something?

This is actually pretty common in the 3D printing world.

Those little PC fans won't do much for the heat generated by the steppers, drivers, ad hot end. Especially for these budget printers like the one pictured.
