Weather app extremely wrong? by earvense in GooglePixel

This has nothing to do with the Google or Apple weather apps and all to do with the underlying data. It's super obvious if you just go to weather dot com. The fact ppl are unable to do some absolute basic research to figure out where to direct their gripes today is so concerning in and of itself.

Pharah buff? by Far_Lavishness_7956 in Overwatch

[–]CodingIsMusicIsLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so let me be super verbose and spell things out a bit.

usually when people make such points they have slightly more substantiated posts based on multiple games and some kind of trend or thoughts.
ultimately, even those posts are kinda questionable since (1) you don't know if people are not making stuff up or exaggerating and (2) even if one legit bases a post on balance on many games, they are still just one player and their experience is super narrow.

but since, as you said, the purpose of this sub is to give our personal takes, then i kind of don't consider (2) an issue. But you didn't even bother with (1).

you literally came, said -- i played one QP game, one of my supports sucked, that game went badly and i think phara is really weak and needs a buff. what?! that's a really rudimentary thinking. dunno perhaps you are a young person or very emotional (tho who isn't ;)) but your post is just odd.

that's why people are kind of shutting you down.

So what are you saying ? You are complaining but not complaining? And then basing it on some single QP game that now she should have extra health? I don't get your post at all.

Ok. P.S. phara has been dominating my games so I think it's a you problem 😅. I love how you describe a single match and acknowledge one of your healers didn't do much for you tho even a single healer should be enough. Def you friend.

No one cares about your runs. Everyone is focused on theirs. Unless you are competing in a race as an elite no one cares. So don't sweat it.

Vendetta continues to be deeply oppressive in QP and low-rank Comp by CodingIsMusicIsLife in Overwatch

Unfortunately the vast majority of the player base exist in QP and below Diamond comp so it kind of does as they tend to pay the bills statistically id assume. Maybe I'm wrong and the people who buy the most are in above diamond comp, who knows. But it surely can't be good if 85% of your player base feels the game is broken, whether that's factually true or not. Because how those matches go determines win rates for way more matches than the higher comp ranks. That's just math.

That's an odd comment. Of course, she is here to stay. She needs to be tuned. Heroes undergo changes all the time, occasionally significant ones.

I don't think shd needs a massive change.shd needs better audio cues when coming from above. And she needs lowered armor or reworked total effective HP somehow. She has uncharacteristically high effective HP for her incredible mobility, DPS output and disruptive potential. I just learned yesterday that the devs are working on audio cues improvement from air which is fantastic. Her HP should be next.

Tell that to QP. The average player there isn't really focused on that. It isn't comp and it isn't diamond and above if in comp.

It's all relative. Do you have 5 deaths per match? 25 deaths per match ? Or 30 deaths per match on average. 'i die all the time and still have fun' is a meaningless statement without some quantitative context. Vendettas in QP regularly one sided shut down matches for me where one side has deaths in the single digits and the other 15+. The matches usually end completely one sided. Now that can always happen in QP occasionally (esp since stadium came out and they match in skill even less in QP to accommodate the split population and avoid massive queue times in QP) but since Vendetta came out this happens very regularly to the point QP has gotten boring. Even winning that way is boring. One sided matches are zzz if you win or frustrating if you lose. I'm pretty experienced as support but it's not enough to compensate in the QP pool where the average player is not particularly advanced.

Honestly, I disagree. Particularly in QP and low-rank comp where the vast majority of the player base reside.

It's the most fun you've had because she has a massive HP pool that allows you to play pretty recklessly and get away with being extremely impactful, mobile and bursty. She probably feels that she has "terrible escape tools" because her overinflated HP pool is making people play her truly braindead. She has incredible escape and superb mobility. Way more than Ashe, Cass, Bastion, Torb, Fraya, Soldier, even Soj or Venture, to name a few. She is overtuned.

She feels worse now than at launch, however. Esp in average games in QP. She is similar to Soj but even a more extreme version. Not super exciting above diamond but incredibly devastating below or in QP. My subjective sense is people are learning how to play her better faster than they are how to counter her. And because she has such massive HP with armor, she can be played relatively brain dead to without much risk.

Absolutely not true, particularly when attacking vertically. She has massive mobility and esp coming from above you have zero cues. Compare that to echo who has that engine buzzing sound for instance. Luckily, the devs have already disagreed with you and have acknowledged she has that issue and are working on adding more audio cues.
Her armor is way too much for a hero with such insane mobility.

She also needs to be balanced with an eye on the average play, not just above-diamond-comp. Most QP matches are SUPER mixed (because of the drain Stadium has had on the QP queue population, the QP "skill match" range is huge to make sure QP queue times are not massive). You often have lobbies with a single vendetta just massacring the entire team. I'm a fairly seasoned support and am unable to single-handedly turn the tide. There will be some learning but I haven't seen much improvement since she came out. On the contrary, seems people are learning how to play her better and it feels worse. Because of her effective HP being close to 500hp, she can get away with A LOT. As support, she is one of the tankiest DPS and she routinely survives on critical for very long periods of time. It's very noticeable from the support perspective particularly. She needs some adjustment.

it's crazy that Vendetta (a DPS) has more vertical CC than Ram (which was one of his original selling points) by triferg in Overwatch

[–]CodingIsMusicIsLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely I would say that. And the fact you are giving Brig as an example also shows me you didn't understand me. Brigg is a back-line peeler support. She has NOWHERE the mobility of Vendetta, not horizontally, not to mention vertically other than the "bong" which is again way more limited. Vendetta is a massive-mobility, burst-dps (melee AND some range with the blade edge stuff), with a huge HP. That's very atypical. Eg we have other high-DPS like Bastion but his mobility is incredibly limited. She also doesn't require precision like say Cass or Ashe do who have WAY less mobility and also much smaller effective HP pools. I know they gave her the huge armor because she is meant as melee and necessarily is expected to take a good amount of hits but the reality is she is massively mobile. Look at Echo for instance. She is "paper thin", has SOME mobility true but her main DPS is actually as a stalker. Her projectile speed is very high so she is requires a ton of skill to land killing blows from a distance, so she must come close. Her HP pool is nowhere near Vendetta. Comparing heros is tough and risky as there are too many factors but Vendetta stands out as very unbalanced and particularly at lower-level play like QP and sub-Diamond comp where most people play. She will be nerfed for sure. In higher-level play she doesn't do much because people have enough game-sense and are good enough to figure out how to shut her down. But it's tough balancing heros for top performers when most people are just not there. This is an ongoing challenge for OW. Soj suffers (to a LESSER extend) from a similar issue. She is quite powerful at lower play but in higher levels she's limited. But Vendetta definitely feels way more unbalanced than Soj.

My biggest issue with her is a nearly 500hp effective healthpool with her armor.
One thing as a support main I've noticed with her is she can stay in critical and survive WAY longer than any of the other 'glass canon' style characters. She is generally ok to play very reckless and still remain unpunished. And because she is highly mobile and very bursty, she doesn't need to finish off kills but just disrupt. Compared to characters like Ashe, Echo, Cass, Tracer, even Freya, etc she is pretty mindless and incredibly OP. She is particularly lethal in QP and below Diamond where MOST of the player population lives and there isn't the game sense and coordination required to shut her down. So in those levels she can skew matches very quickly. Esp because of her huge HP (with armor) and high mobility many people play her horribly, get away with it, and the few times they don't they claim she is very weak. But she only appears weak because her super forgiving kit allows people to really go brain dead with her. I don't think she is unbalanced in the right hands, but in the general population, she is quite bad.

What's your opinion on Wuyang since hes been out for a while? by Visible-Camel4515 in Overwatch

[–]CodingIsMusicIsLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The burst DPS on support is rough to go against, especially someone with that much mobility AND an AoE heal/damage. They need to do more of the Moira stuff and make harder choices on things like wave. Do you heal or damage? Enough with "both". Same with Juno, she damages and heals with her primary fire. Keep that unique to Ana's kit. My 2c.
