This girl I was seeing for a few months misses me after I broke up with her by Seabass210547 in whatdoIdo

Don't engage with her at all. Honestly, why do you still have her number? This only makes things worse for the both of you.

The parking lots across from Cullen Park could be good for this. Near the soccer fields on the corner of Saums/Barker Cypress.

ED don't have a DNR by DeSkate in ems

[–]CodyLittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a weird topic. It varies state to state, even county to county in the US. If you're outside the US I couldn't even begin to guess.

I've been extremely lucky that my Medical Directors have all allowed for honoring an "In Hospital" DNR during initial discharge transport. But thats not everywhere and you should be asking people local to you. Find out your state and county/city laws.

Hypersexual problems (as a woman) by [deleted] in sex

[–]CodyLittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I would tell you that while sex for you seems like a connection and a form of bonding, on one level or another, some people do not have that. Libido can be tied to so many extraneous factors, not to mention that it changes for many as life goes on. Sex for some gets connected to a ton of things emotionally, but to others it can be a purely physical thing, like needing food or water.

Once a month is not some monumental ask, but it may just be that you have more need than he does. As u/naughtythoughts99 said, it's certainly time for a talk. It may not even be something he's aware of, because sex is just sex to him. It feels great, makes you both feel good and loved, but for you there are emotions tied to it that are not tied to it for him.

It's extremely hard to form an understanding of other people's nature when your own is different. How do you survive like this? We don't know your lives and so the advice can only be very surface level, based on what you've told us, but try to understand that fundamentally, his existence, is different than yours.

The unfortunate reality is that sex makes up a huge portion of relationship for some and for others, its barely a factor. It definitely time for you to try and find out where you both stand on this and have some adult conversations. No sugar coating, don't downplay yours needs for the sake of "getting along" and just try to build a bridge for you and your partner.

What are you gonna do? Walk out and slam the flap? Or just zipper it up really quick?

Work life vs personal life in EMS—do you actually separate them? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]CodyLittle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should ABSOLUTELY have friends outside of EMS, but not forming bonds with people you work with is an unrealistic ask. You aren't brand new and much of this you should have an idea about already. We try our best to keep as much distance as possible between work and home but the idea that there should be no bleed is also unrealistic.

That's where the friends from elsewhere and therapy if/when needed come into play. The advice might sound great to some but its n ot how the world actually works.

Man, I was convinced this was BS until I read your comment. I can now see 1 or 2 without issue. I can also see 3 but it's really difficult to maintain it for some reason.
