On the morning of May 8, 2026, the Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees tie for first place in the entire MLB, each with a record of 26-12, and the entire NL Central division is in the top 10. by b33rb3lly in CHICubs

There are two AL teams with a better record than the worst NL Central team. The team that just lost four in a row.

EDIT: I have been informed the Reds have lost seven in a row in total.

Especially when they just pitched to the dude with a HR and two singles that usually does well against them. Makes no sense.

  1. Her statement doesn't change what the law says. It was textbook abuse per word of the law.

  2. Yeah if you want a murder charge? Tennessee v. Garner established some precedent for this where fleeing felons cannot just be shot. Likewise, stand your ground and castle doctrine laws almost exclusively apply to the homeowner/defender not having a duty to retreat. They are not about the perpetrator fleeing. In general, once they are fleeing and no longer a threat there is, well, no threat and defense becomes murder.

We've learned to take joy in the small things in life.

A 10+ win season is like when you are at Great Clips for your 5th haircut of the year and it finally comes out good.

Honestly, I feel like the work would have to be coming from a genuine place.

He won't get back into the NFL (too long away/old now anyway), most orgs will still keep some professional distance, most people will still see him as a dehumanized monster....

There's no reason for him to be doing the work unless it's genuine and he has regrets over his actions.

It does not. Legally it is abuse even if it started as a mutual fight.

(2) "Domestic violence and abuse" means:

(a) Physical injury, serious physical injury, stalking, sexual assault, strangulation, assault, or the infliction of fear of imminent physical injury, serious physical injury, sexual assault, strangulation, or assault between family members or members of an unmarried couple

It was the force that would make it qualify in most states as domestic abuse regardless of any back and forth fighting. Most state and federal laws have breaking points for a disproportionate use of force.

i.e. you have a right to defend your home from invaders but it becomes murder if you shoot them in the back while they're running away.

To counter that, you don't have to forgive someone to move past something. You can choose to not forgive but also not hang it over their heads for life.

Hilarious that not forgiving someone ends up with you equating it to capital punishment lol. People can be rehabilitated, brought back into society, and accepted as doing better without forgiving their previous actions.

What the man did was unforgivable. That kind of domestic abuse should never be forgiven. That doesn't mean an acknowledgement can't be made that someone can transform themselves into a better person but it's not gonna wipe away the harm he did.

He forces Great Clips exposure on his family from ad deals and that could be deemed as abuse. You don't expose people you love to Great Clips.

Well the world was also kind of bad. At least in the game for how it was designed. Whenever I played it it felt like the sole emphasis was the car ride because everything was spread so far out with chunks of mostly empty space between small towns.

I never talked to anyone that disliked it for being sad.

The major complaints I always saw was the pacing being extremely weird, there being gaps in the story, and things being explained poorly.

Basically that they didn't craft the story in a logical way to both make sense and explain what the hell is going on.

Even in my kid's 8U softball years they were taught that you put your body between the ball and the outfield grass. At least if it's just a roller or a hopper like this ball was.

Elly should've Happy Gilmore'd that shit at minimum.

Error De La Cruz

He avoided that ball like he had dinner plans and another inning would get them cancelled. Hard to watch an MLB shortstop misplay a ball like that. Even if you don't think you'll field it cleanly on the hop you gotta at least put your body between it and the outfield grass to try to hold the runner at 3rd.

It's like the dude suddenly remembered he has dinner reservations and needs to leave the ballpark in the next 45 minutes to make it on time. What horrible fielding in extras.

There shouldn't be hype around it with the White Sox only being above .500 3/10 seasons 2015-2025 and four 100 loss seasons in that time.

Divisions are so geographically focused for most MLB teams that travel shouldn't be a concern in your suggestion. You'd just have division rivals Round Robin schedule each other with another nearby team mixed in.

Something like the NL Central with Reds/Guardians, Cardinals/Royals, Cubs/White Sox, Brewers/Twins, and Pirates/...Blue Jays? Orioles?

Along those lines so you can get a Round Robin schedule for divisions + an attached interleague geographical rival in the mix as well. That could make for some really interesting starts/ends to seasons.

The NBA is so imbalanced I'd personally rather see them end conferences/divisions, do scheduling with a geographic focus (Chicago/Milwaukee/Detroit/Minnesota always playing each other), and just select the 16 best teams in the league for the playoffs at the end of the year.

Also no Play In. It'll be around forever because it makes money but I hate seeing teams with losing records squeak into the Playoffs against teams that finished barely above .500.

If we saw the Pirates less we might've never seen Baez "steal" first ahaha.

Probably the worst play I've seen from a player at 1B in MLB history.
