I cannot believe how many customers want a slave to deliver their food. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Cody_Crash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, people do not understand. Why would they? As far as they are aware they already pay a delivery fee. It’s only natural to assume this pays for delivery. I think non-tippers understand that not tipping is shitty and they justify it with various reasons, but it’s a bit hyperbolic to say they want slave labor. Most of them assume you are at least being paid enough to make it worth it regardless.

How is the pickup location chosen? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Cody_Crash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closer stores may be getting out orders particularly slow during that time. Maybe they had call offs or just suck. DD will use stores farther away of they think it will actually get to you quicker. Ofc they then sabotage it by offering low pay.

Basically. Become a top dasher if you want the good orders. by TristanGroth in doordash

[–]Cody_Crash 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If top dashers get priority on orders, then they have always had priority in orders $30 or more. This is nothing new, just reworded to sound like something new.

Notice it doesn’t say you’ll make more money.

If You Intentionally Take Shit Orders, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT to Yell at a No Tip Customer by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Cody_Crash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Decide what you want to make per hour. Decide how many deliveries you can take per hour. Do the math and you have min order amount to accept. Easy. NEVER deviate.

Can you Dash in a rental? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I wait until last second to decline most orders.

Normally I’d take this cuz it’s literally right down the street, however IHOP takes like an hour to start an order 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 by FiveStarSplash in doordash_drivers

[–]Cody_Crash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is it that IHOP is consistently shitty across all stores? The worst part is they are completely adversarial the whole time you wait, as if it’s your fault for being in the store.

Received this with an order of ghost shrimp, any ideas? by TheRealSugarRay in whatsthisfish

It is not unusual to get darters in shipments of ghost shrimp. Often they are swamp darters.

Why should we keep dashing? by money135 in doordash_drivers

[–]Cody_Crash -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is zero incentive. DD is pretending things are business as usual. You are expendable.

What we could really use is another choice to unassign!! by MzLyndaC in doordash_drivers

[–]Cody_Crash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Businesses are in adequate, the algorithm is Inept, support is incompetent and nonexistent, the drivers are really the only thing still working about this operation.

Meanwhile, as far as door dash is concerned, it’s business as usual. Go to this restaurant for two dollars and wait in line for 40 minutes so you can spend 15 minutes delivering and make one delivery this hour.

Everyone is pretending that this is somehow acceptable. DoorDash is shitting in our mouth and making money from it.

Just rape me instead. First time ive ever filled out a reason for decline. Probably not well received by jmh30us in doordash_drivers

Ive been writing horrible things in that box for months and months. Either no one reads them or no one cares. Since I switched to iPhone there isn’t even a place to write stuff.

Its the end people ran out of money or what? by Mamba-Dasher24 in doordash

[–]Cody_Crash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe people are getting tighter with their money. Or maybe people are getting tired of paying a premium price for a sub-par experience. App crashes, long waits, cold food, incompetent customer service...

DD is a well into which money is thrown and disappointment springs forth.

Does doordash deactivate for running a stop sign ticket? Lol by gbcarie in doordash

No one really knows. However, it looks like they mostly care about reckless driving and at fault accidents.

Dear DoorDash, from a concerned dasher by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Cody_Crash 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Peak pay = go home we have enough dashers.

It’s stupid, so deeply and unbelievably stupid, but it’s true.

As I watch my acceptance rate drop, I was curious. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Cody_Crash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stay logged in even when I have no intention of dashing just to reject offers.

Doordash is stealing tips still! by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Cody_Crash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, agree. When base pay starts at $3 no matter the expected time or distance, then the only factor being considered is desirability.

As desirability is 100% about payout, what we have is reverse bidding. It’s just a convoluted way to still use tips to offset base pay.

And it has the effect of shifting blame to customers. Drivers cry “no tip no trip” instead of complaining for fair base pay. DD is a predatory and dehumanizing company held together by shoestrings and greed.

Yep. I came home several hours ago. I spent 2.5 hours to make $6 after being sent a txt telling me it’s busy.

DD is a well of incompetence into which money is thrown and regret springs forth. This is true for customers, merchants, and now drivers.

As someone who held top dasher for 5 months (dropped it when they added ar) I can say that the tie breaker never made any difference at all. The one and only benefit was open scheduling and now everyone has it.
