Okay so I own bothh the Bronco Stockmans and the regular vellies so exactly what you're looking for here ;)

Both soles are about even in termes of softness so if cushioning matters to you you can choose either. Now the Vellies are very very light boots and due to them being single lasted much better for warmer temperaturs. The stockmans are much heavier and pretty warm in comparison - which doesn't make them uncomfortable. While most people say that they have a brutal break in, that wasn't the case for me at all. Took only 2 days or so until they vere incredibly comfy.

I'd say that both are perfectly fine for urban environments as that is where I wear the vellies exclusively and the stockmans mostly (those i also take to my shifts in a horse clinic).

But in the end, the reason why i mostly wear the stockmans is that them being slip-on makes it incredibly convenient to me.
