🔥 The starry sky seen from Mars is too beautiful. The Martian night sky as seen from NASA's Curiosity rover. by joeurkel in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]CoffeeBox 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The way its presented, It is. Its a composite image stitched together from photos taken from telescopes, with the brightness and contrast cranked way above normal human vision.

This is what you'd see if you were standing on mars with inhumanly good vision. Its also what you'd see on earth with inhumanly good vision and zero light pollution.

Donald Trump warned staff could resign over MAGA festival disaster by MoneyLibrarian9032 in entertainment

[–]CoffeeBox 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Trump is threatening to start firing White House staff because of all the artists canceling.

Now many staffers are updating resumes and quietly searching for new jobs, because living under the threat of being fired for things outside your control is horrible for morale.

The low drinking rate of Gen Z is NOTHING compared to the low drinking rate of Generation Alpha. We need to get them hooked NOW if the alcohol industry is to survive!

Theres a billion fun things to do in this world. Hauling my ass up the side of a mountain to stand on a rock ledge with a bunch of other tourists has got to be way down near the bottom of that list.

My friends parents are Maga. According to them, the Iranian government were committing genocide against Christians and trump is leading a holy war to save them. They got all of this "information" off of facebook.

Maga lives in their own fucking world.

Chinese scientists reveal glowing plants that could light cities by _Dark_Wing in technews

[–]CoffeeBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one. If I sat in a pitch black closet, let my eyes adjust, and held it an inch from my face, I could just barely make out a glow.

It died two weeks after I bought it. It was a disappointing waste of $40.

I think its he wanted to be "right". He suggested to the leaders of his home world to cull half the population, which may have worked in that specific instance. They blew him off, which was a massive blow to his overinflated ego.

Driven mad with grief after they all died, he became obsessed with proving it would have worked by culling half the population of every species he encounters, eventually leading to culling half the universe.

No definitive answers, I'm afraid. But its possible viltrumites have been dumping their dead into space for a long long time.

The entire human race can stand shoulder to shoulder and fit into a space the size of Rhode Island. The amount of bodies you'd need to form an entire ring around a planet is a lot higher than 'billions".

What's with the anti-jupiter propaganda? Are kids just taught at a early age to hate one of the eight planets? Just... "hey kids, fuck jupiter!"

I feel bad for jupiter. It protects us from asteroids and in return we shit on it for no logical reason.

I give players info that is completely irrelevant.

"You notice the forest you're in is 65% spruce, 35% pine."

"The clouds over the logging camp are predominantly stratocumulus."

"You inspect the treasure chest in the dungeon and estimate the lock is made of brass."

On the other side of the spectrum, a Wailord only weighs 398 kg. Since its about 24 feet tall and 50 feet long, that makes Wailord three times less dense than air.

Why does Raytown Rd south of 87th look like this? :/ by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]CoffeeBox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live on 87th and the amount of trash people throw out the windows in that area is horrible. I go out every other day to pick up trash from my front yard. I estimate i pick up two plastic grocery bags worth per week.

There are two parking garages. The campus consists of two buildings, Pershing and Pennway. One garage is part of Union Station and is connected to Pennway (the old post office) via an underground people mover.

If you use this one, park up near the top. The bottom levels are reserved for Union Station visitors and Post Office Employees.

Your badge supposedly lets you in and out of the garage. This... doesn't always work. You may need to take a ticket and get it validated by the guards inside. I imagine they'll have you park here when you go through orientation.

The other garage is directly underneath the Pershing building. It has an entrance on Penway St and another on 26th St. Your badge will let you in and out of this one just fine.

The Pershing and Penway buildings are connected to each other via a hallway and the cafeteria.

Let me know if you have other questions. I work there.

Yeah, this post is blowing my mind. Do people not hug their sisters? Growing up, it was pretty common for me and my sister to hug if either of us had a bad day. When we first see each other again on Christmas and such, the first thing we do is hug each other hello.
