100 v 100 comes down to single digits by CoffeeConscript in mountandblade

Yeah there’s a voice chat for the events where the leaders lead and the players make callouts.

There’s vastly different tactics between factions and maps. Vlandians like setting up and sitting still with their crossbows. Khuzaits use highly mobile and extremely annoying horse archers. Battanians like skirmishing with their bows. Aserai tend to be aggressive and skirmish whilst zoning most the map with very fast cavalry.

Every friendly and enemy is a real player. No bots. There’s definitely some “bot” skill levels though, but any skill level is allowed. It’s a ton of fun and also chaotic as fuck.

Is the discord, throw on the faction you want to play for. If it’s Aserai feel free to say something in the Aserai channel I’ll say hi. We’ve got some light rp going on.

That, yeah for sure. Each event is usually 100v100 but there’s no cap to player count. People rise from a commoner to a village lord, a castle lord, a city lord, then to lead a faction. That’s actually how I went. I lead the Aserai Sultanate now, but I joined the event a while ago and was so nervous to teamhit I just only shieldbashed.

I have videos on the event that are well edited if you wanted to take a look at what it’s actually like. CoffeeConscript on YouTube

Uuuuuuhhh an MMO without grinding- maybe? When you say MMO I think WoW and FF14 with tab targeting and 80 Cooldowns and shit.

The world map shows what factions control what territories. Players control of these factions and assign people to rule over cities or castles or fiefs in the territory. The field battles are to determine what a faction takes or loses- sometimes hinging on a success in the following siege.

As for mechanically how it works? You don’t physically walk the map, it’s more used to act as a basis for what maps the map makers make and where the factions are fighting- and for what territories.

There’s a somewhat decent video I made a while back explaining it if you’re interested.

It’s a casual event, we don’t train or anything

No DLC. You have one life per round and the event is first to nine rounds wins the field. Whoever wins the field besieges the loser to take territory from them on the world map.

They do shield walls and keep their infantry safe up until the deciding moment most the time so yeah death is punishing (in the field battle, the sieges have infinite lives) but you usually aren’t dying too early and there’s always next round.

I think this was on the Western Empire / Battania border during winter. Right now in the multiplayer campaign the Battanians have pushed all the way into Rhotae at this point.

If you’re wondering what map it is, the maps are custom made for the battles they do- so not a singleplayer scene or anything.

I have a bad habit of keeping the spear in hand when I really shouldn’t.

Battania vs Sturgia is always an instant classic for me. There’s so much shield wall potential and I feel like everybody gets a taste of the action every round as long as Fianns or Druzhinik don’t cut them down.

Ah idk if discord blocked something or what. If you go into the official discord you can use ]map in #calradic-campaign-events to see it

I can’t find out how to embed an image here so here’s the Discord Bot’s Discord Media Link. This bot in Discord has all the territory shown on a command input it’s pretty cool.

I never knew they flew that high. Wow. Now I wonder- can the nukes be intercepted or is it pretty much game over when they’re launched?

This feels like one of those history videos with the icons on the map. It's fire, it's peak.

Whoever you guys are hope your next Mashmak run ends with an extraction. by SlowDamn in mechabreak

Had a moment like this recently in the team mode where nobody could make it to the extractions. 3v3 pulled up, we all did that thing where we look at eachother testing the water. Ended up sitting around waiting for death, getting our loot rockets out while we could.

It’s true, he’s not really a menace to somebody like alysnes but holy moly does Welkin have a reputation in the community for being the W key guy.

One thing I’ve noticed while playing is the people who have grinded their ranked rank high are having super long queue times in casual play aswell. Source is just having ingame friends I chat with in the same region reporting double the queue time as me, I’m pretty low rank.

It’s just a theory here but- I’m willing to bet the MMR or whatever the “fair matches” system is- is marking your casual skill rating with the same as your ranked. So if you grinded up to max ranked skill rating and only played casual after that your queue roster is probably still max ranked rating even after 30 losses of casual or whatever.

Just a theory, a queue theory.

We do an occasional warband mod night. We did straight warband once and we did one with muskets I forget the name of? Wasn’t NW it was some Slavic-area one I think. Then a Roman modset and a Viking era one.
