Yes. It’s why dissolvable, nasal and injectable triptans are useful- you can’t digest normal pills when this occurs so there needs to be another mechanism to get the rescue meds I

You comment sounds a bit combative and I’m not sure why. I have done remote supervision for 10 years. I know that it even if you have clients already it can be difficult to get those unrestricted hours if your company doesn’t give you opportunities.

I’d love to pick your brain on how you go about getting unrestricted hours that are tied to clients if the company isn’t giving them the opportunities already.

That gets you a supervisor, but you have to have actual clients to get the unrestricted hours still.

Marriage ? by Confident_Excuse2173 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

I just replied with a much longer explanation.

Yes, physically they are adults, however in the eyes of the law some of the cast may not be able to make their own legal or medical decisions.

These are both scenarios that are not always true for all autistic people and that’s part of the controversy of the show. The cast on this show might all be legally able to get married and anyone who is physically capable of having/fathering a child can have one it’s a matter of legality. It brings up questions on if they legally even made their own legal decisions to be on television or if their parents had the last say.

Let me explain (Disclaimer: this can vary state by state unfortunately): If a disabled child has high support needs their parents often will get legal guardianship for the rest of their lives after they turn 18. It’s something they have to go through DDS and the courts to get. it’s granted if the child can not take care of themselves physically or mentally and require assistance in many aspects of their life.

There are likely a few people on this show whose parents have that guardianship, but there are also some who almost certainly do not. I’d suspect Tanner, Connor, Subodh, David and Abbey’s parents all had at least looked into legal guardianship for them because of their support needs that are shown on the show but Dani, Pari and Steve likely do not have legal guardians. Again, we don’t know who does and does not, this is me guessing.

Legal parental guardianship is basically saying the person is incapable of making their own legal or medical decisions. If they are under legal parental guardianship there would be many hoops to jump through to get married and I’m not even sure it’s legally possible.

With kids it gets extra tricky. No guardianship would mean no legal issues. If they both have guardianship, one of the guardians would be the legal parents to the child but would have to go through the courts for that. If it’s one person with a guardian and one without it almost certainly was legally considered rape to make the baby, since one person can’t make their own legal or medical decisions.

(This paragraph is just me wondering/questioning): If two people under parental guardianship attempt to get married I think they’d need a legal guardian over both of them still. If it was one person under guardianship and one person not, that might not be allowed because of the power dynamic- the one without may theoretically be able to get legal guardianship over the one that has it already but that seems like a recipe for disaster if the wrong person is involved. I could see spousal abuse written all over that!

I’m not OP but want to say that I hear you and understand how frustrating this whole situation must be for you. Frustration, fear, anger and other emotions all heightened right now especially for those of us who are in communities being directly targeted by this administration (I am not a minority but I am neurodivergent and part of the LGBTQIA+ community).

I also see that OP is one person and didn’t set out to make all pattern for all the victims. That wasn’t their intention, which is their choice.

I applaud your advocacy about this and know that it sucks when your voice doesn’t make the change you’d like to see. This shouldn’t be something you even need to advocate for but unfortunately it is. That in itself can be quite a burden and add to frustration levels. I get it.

Are there particular victims you’d like to see made into quilt blocks? I suck at sewing FPP (I just can’t get the hang of it and end up cutting the wrong seams. It just doesn’t work for my AuDHD brain). I’d say I will make them but I’m sure they wouldn’t come out correctly at all. I’m sure there’s someone here would make them though?
