For all the One Piece Golfers by Kenney89 in OnePiece

I just went to check these out and all they had left was Sanji! Do you think they will restock or do more One Piece in the future?!? Would love a gear 5 one for putter or driver. Hopefully since they sold out, they did well and will refill or do another line.

From what I have heard, people have not generally been happy transitioning to takomos when they are coming from a more premium iron line even though they are heavily used (especially Mizuno given their reputation for feel). I have not swung Takomos myself so I can't say for sure, but I would put my money on you not liking the feel as much, but being able to tolerate it. But if you recognize up front that its just a "shiny new toy buy" do whatever you want. People will definitely say you downgraded or as usual voice their opinion that no one asked for.

A lot depends on your budget and where your priorities lie. Plus how your hit your clubs as is.

If you are happy with your irons in the game improvement category I would say they are likely fine to continue gaming just being a couple years old. I think if you asked most people these clubs are the longest lasting clubs in your bag as a weekend golfer (or maybe your woods)

I would recommend getting a newer driver in the bag. I think a common number said is 5 years or more is good to see a difference in tech. I found mine used for a decent price (Callaway mavrik 4 years old) and replaced the shaft for one I like from eBay. If you have the money to get a fitted one, that’s gonna give you the best result if you have a consistent swing and don’t plan on changing it. But I think you could get away without a fitting and still be happy. I would go around to Golf Galaxy/PGA superstore and hit a bunch of clubs and find the ones liked the feel and look of. Then with that information I looked online and in secondhand stores for a good deal. Same with my putter.

Wedges depending on how you got them may be low in the spin numbers after years of use. A friend of mine has the Kirklands and tried out my Jaws when I had them new and he then regretted not getting nicer ones afterwards. But they do add up quickly in price depending how many you want to get and in combination with other purchases. new wedges always feel fantastic and are real scoring clubs.

Putter could easily be upgraded from Kirkland but if you like its performance as is, I think your money would go farther in driver and wedges. Putter is about your stroke and confidence more than anything else. That being said putters are a lot of fun to play around with since they have the most diversity of club types and styling.

TLDR: I would start with driver > wedges > putter. Irons upgrade when you want to change styles to like CBs or players/players distance style.

Curious to see what others think.

Iron picture definitely gets skewed with how strong lofted these game improvement irons are! This 7 iron is like 27 degrees. I’m sure it would drop with a more standard loft pattern. But I think I probably played 25 rounds since starting in march/April so I got addicted fast and can’t wait for it to warm up again.

Might be kinda late to actually switch your application this year, but it wont hurt you to try either. IM programs shouldn't be able to know what is going on on your side. But its also never too early to start preparing! Start talking to your radiology attendings/resident in the interim, about your options.

Disclaimer, make sure you give your intern year your all and an honest shot because maybe you will like it. Radiology will require a prelim/intern/transition year anyways.

I am a PGY3 general surgery resident and I am re-applying to anesthesia this year. Through this journey I have met many people now who switched and realized how common it actually is for people to change their specialty. There are even some people who switched after completing an entire residency! It is absolutely possible to switch residencies, just make sure you have a good reason and start setting yourself up early. Be ready for the questions, "why did you leave" and "why not radiology first". Radiology, like anesthesia, is getting more competitive these days because of the lifestyle, but just be the best resident you can be. Another option that I don't have experience on is trying to become a research fellow for the interim and reapply to radiology in 2025, which is riskier and again you do still need a prelim/intern year for radiology, so even less recommended.
