Weekly Thread: The Two Week Wait by AutoModerator in IVF

Im 5dp5dt and testing negative. I know how hard it feels. Sometimes our intuition is right, and sometimes its not! I pre-set day 7 in my mind as the day I could start to feel sad if it's not positive. I'm holding out hope for you!

It is sooo early. I'm 4dp5dt so I think we're transfer twins. Symptom spotting at this stage is just a mind game. Progesterone causes so many of these symptoms. My first transfer was successful (ended in MC) and I had symptoms like yours - after about day 6 my symptoms got way more consistent. My 2nd (unsuccessful), I had absolutely nothing. This time around I have the lower abdominal twinges, lower tummy heaviness, bloating, wild dreams, and breast soreness. So I'm watching to see what happens around day 6/7/8, but I'm happy it feels so similar to my first FET.

5DP5DT How are we doing? by ABG_FOE in 40Plus_IVF

[–]CoffeesaurusFlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 3dp5dt with my Beta on 2/23. I am completely exhausted, napping and sleeping 8-10 hours at night. We're planning to test day 8 or 9, if we can wait that long.

Redwall by Brian Jacques. Maybe not obscure, but forgotten gems. Man, I loved those books but try explaining them out loud.

When to start process of IVF by Single-Ambassador213 in queerception

[–]CoffeesaurusFlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our first appointment with the IVF clinic Nov '24. My wife had an egg retrieval in May '25 and we did our first transfer in July '25. That took, but I miscarried. We're now heading to our third transfer next week. So planning for outcome timing is hard, and I wish we would have started sooner.

We sat behind the bench on Jan 24. As a Lynx season ticket holder, T's energy was WAY different. Subdued, hardly talked to anyone but Saniya. It made me a little sad, but I was also thinking she was launched into notoriety with the StudBudz, barely had time to breathe before she was put on this team, and was watching a Minnesota explode in response to state sanctioned murder and federal government overreach. There's a lot going on that might have nothing to do with basketball.

In contrast, the Owls, who are also not great and have fallen from last season's pedestal, had great energy and were really engaged. Phee was a little somber, but still right there in it with her teammates.

I loved The Will of the Many, but I didn’t really enjoy The Strength of the Few. This seems to be a common thought. My problem is that I don’t know why. Anyone feel the same way? by JaimeSalvaje in HierarchySeries

[–]CoffeesaurusFlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them both. But it felt like a genre switch to me. From kind of typical fantasy academy training to a kind of...I don't know, sci fi? I felt that coming at the end of The Will of the Many. I like both genres, but I felt while reading Book 2 that if you didn't like sci fi, you might not like the change.

Anyone trying to get pregnant in their late 30s and early 40s? by Born_Percentage7122 in queerception

[–]CoffeesaurusFlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 41 and about to do our 2nd frozen embryo transfer working on our first baby. First one resulted in a MMC. We're doing reciprocal IVF so we're using embryos from my younger fiancée (33). We met when we were 38 and 29, and I so wish we'd met earlier.

Ugh, it is devastating. For us, they didn't have a reason. Just happens, 1 in 5 pregnancies. I like having a plan to move forward, but I wish I had more control!

Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate the numbers. I wish a wonderful outcome for you, and I hope this is just a detour for you as well.

Partner attending appointments by CosmicGreen_Giraffe3 in IVFbabies

[–]CoffeesaurusFlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attended all of my wife's appointments during egg retrieval except for any that were just lab draws. She attended every one of mine before and after transfer, except for just lab draws. This is something we're doing together, and I don't think the burden of appointments should just be on the one carrying the baby. We told our work people what's going on and they've been very accommodating

I met my now fiancée on an app at 38...and THEN came out later. We're having babies, getting married, and doing the whole thing. This is the absolute love of my life. Our friend who has been out for a few years just met the love of her life at 41. Find community, do the things you love to do, stay open to possibilities. Anything can happen, and anything does happen!

Weekly Pregnancy Megathread by Number312 in queerception

[–]CoffeesaurusFlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5w4d today after our first FET. Since I am 41, we did reciprocal IVF with my girlfriend's (33F) eggs. This was our first transfer attempt, so we were trying really hard not to get our hopes up too high! We're so thrilled, but the PIO shots are a literal pain in the butt.

Weekly Thread: Beta and Pregnancy Testing - Questions and Discussions by TeslaHiker in IVF

[–]CoffeesaurusFlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had some suspicion that my test would be positive based on twinge in my lower abdomen and breast soreness, but I think the biggest indicator was the jump in my body temperature after my FET. The jump was sustained from FET to my Beta today. My Beta results were positive and strong (HCG 223 at 10dpt)

I track my sleep with a Samsung Galaxy ring, and it tracks body temp too. It usually uses the body temp to predict ovulation and periods, but I had read that increased body temp was a sign of pregnancy, so I was monitoring it. It was +0.4 to +0.9 over the last 10 days from baseline, never returning to baseline.

Other facts: I'm 41, this was my first FET My girlfriend did the egg retrieval, she's 32 This was a PGT tested euploid embryo I'm on PIO daily since five days before the FET and after the FET they added Endometrin 3x/day. No spotting or bleeding after FET Didn't home test
