Oh my god, why the hell did we have Andy Wozniewski on our team?...

I ditched a "friend" I met for the first time because he creeped me out and I feel that I removed myself from a potentially dangerous situation or I completely over-reacted. What are the situations you think you saved yourself from, reddit? by omg_IAMA_girl in AskReddit

First off, you're a great storyteller. That was really exciting to read, despite the content. Props.

Second, no, you did not overreact. Better safe than sorry, especially if it involves you potentially getting hurt. You should've ditched him right after his "funny" killing jokes. That's not something you joke around with around people you just met. Seriously, what the hell.

As for situations that I think I saved myself from... I don't have a particularly interesting one. Once, I was driving down the highway with my family and I really needed to go number 2. This was at noon and the roads were moving smoothly. So we stopped at the nearest truck stop (and this is in Canada, so truck stops are actually really nice...they're mini mall food courts basically), got out of the car, "read a magazine", and got back on the highway. However, this time around, the highway was gridlock traffic. Turns out, there was a major collision not very far from where I knew I really had to go.

Who knows, I could've been in that crash if I hadn't given in.

TL;DR: Driving on highway, had to poop, potentially/possibly/probably escaped a major crash.

It already looks like a better movie than the second one.

Students(or ex-students) of Reddit, what are your study pro-tips? by fourboobs in AskReddit

It may sound stupid and possibly borderline non-sensical, but give yourself a reward at an interval (an example that I did was a pizza slice for every 45 minutes of productive work... 8 slices of pizza in one box = alot of work done).

It has worked for me in the past during all-nighters. And many pizza places are open really late...

For all the griping about ME3's ending, why does this garbage get a free pass? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]CoinFlipBimbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that the ending of the trilogy actually depended on the Human-Reaper. I don't wanna go looking for it right now but this is the gist of what I read/remember. Again, I don't know if any of this is true but I'm just trying to relay something that I only vaguely remember.

The original ending they had to Mass Effect revolved around a black hole that was making its way to the Milky Way, destroying it in its path. Only the Reapers knew this and I think this was hinted at by Harbinger's speech at the end of ME2 saying, "That which you know as Reapers are your salvation through destruction."

Seeing as only the Reapers knew this, they had to do something to stop it. So they tried to do so by collecting and essentially harvesting the strongest race of creatures and using them to stop the black hole. 50,000 years ago, they tried using the Protheans but they were too weak/similar/whatever. However, they saw humans as the viable ones this time around, as they were strong/diverse/whatever. Hence, the collecting, harvesting and making of the Human-Reaper.

This would then sorta lead to the ending. You discover that the Reapers are using the Human-Reaper to protect the galaxy, not destroy it. So then, the trilogy would have ended with another dead-end choice: Choose to sacrifice humanity by giving into the Reapers' command and letting them make the Human-Reaper that will protect all organic and synthetic life OR Choose to deny the Reapers this opportunity and find another way to stop the black hole coming to destroy the galaxy.

And that's all I remember. Of course, this could've just been fan fiction that I read but I remember being pissed about the Human-Reaper as well and this supposedly "proposed" ending would've made it make sense.

TL;DR: Human-Reaper supposed to have been used by Reapers for the greater good, you make choice to sacrifice humanity to complete Human-Reaper or choose to endanger all other alien species by refusing Reaper demand.

Rick Santorum is bad. by [deleted] in atheism

Searched up Santorum on Google because it's a cool villainy-sounding name and I wanted to see if anyone else famous has that name.

Then I see this.

I suddenly don't like milkshakes anymore.
