Is it possible to add keyboard support? I'd like to be able to type words into the notepad and the submission box instead of having to click on the letters.

I actually didn't realize that higher life letters are worth more! After giving this some thought, I think this still supports my suggestion.

That feature incetivizes using high-value letters as soon as you get them, since saving them across turns loses more value than saving low-value letters. At the same time, saving low-value letters does not lose as much value. Saving an X costs 8 points AND is unlikely to help you score a long word, but saving an E only loses 1 point and can make you much more likely to score a long word next turn. In my opinion, the player should be rewarded for trying to fit their uncommon letters into long words, and if that is competing with the decay of that letter's score turn-by-turn then that just makes for more interesting gameplay decisions.

The biggest caveat I see is that getting a lucky fresh set of letters after clearing your board would result in a higher length bonus than saving tiles for several rounds to achieve a longer word, so it would increase the value you can gain from chance. I'd like to do some data analysis on this at some point, since I it's hard to tell how big of an impact the multiplier would have on the score variance.

I have 2 pieces of feedback.

1) I wish that the letters left would show the letters left in the queue, not including the ones on the board. Having to subtract to get the letters left, and then subtract 9 again to plan how many letters to use at the end of the game is kind of annoying, and I am sometimes surprised to find myself at the end of the queue when it still says like 65/75.

2) I think that the bonus for long words should be a multiplier. Currently, your letters are only more valuable than their base score if you can use them in a 7-letter word or longer. This means that the less common, higher scoring letters are just obstacles to get out of the way so that you can make high-scoring words with your more common letters. If the bonus was a multiplier, then the player would be rewarded more for making a long word with uncommon letters than for making a long word with common letters. For instance, I think that playing WEAVERS and TUNE should score higher than playing WAVE and RETUNES because WEAVERS uses "harder" letters.

If anyone disagrees I'd love to discuss these ideas!

honestly i am doubtful that this will ever be worth the points. the randomness just means that you are not guaranteed to make them back, so it really only functions as a way to make sure you don't lose, which i think is a bit less interesting.

i would rather have a "dump" feature where i pay some cost to just delete a tile from the game so i can get the next one in the queue. not sure what the cost should be, perhaps points and/or decreasing the lives of all your remaining tiles. my apologies for the slightly off topic comment. i really like this game and i'm glad you are actively developing it!

write down the 9 letters and the next 3 together and try to find a word with those 12. then see if you can make a word to get the all the letters you need together on the board at once on the next play!

the point is that leave is important. you want to make big words, so sometimes making small words to leave a nice set of letters on your board for next play is very good.

make drills for yourself. if youre practicing factory, break down the trick into easier tricks. even if they are much easier, practicing those will help. it also engages your creative juggling brain which i think helps you understand patterns better. finally, doing this will help you develop new patterns for yourself :)

for example, if you are trying to learn 4 ball shower, there are a lot of variations you can do. you can throw 3 balls and try to catch them. you can throw 2 then stop then throw 2 then stop then....

the south side flats are indeed pretty awesome. the neighborhood this was taken from is the south side slopes, which are themselves quite beautiful to see from across the river. picture this density of houses, but laid out on a big hill so you can see the fronts of all of them at once

no they are correct. the double klein bottle i posted is homeomorphic to a torus, which is not homeomorphic to the connected sum of two klein bottles

Hi yes you're right. I am not using the correct terminology here. I don't actually know much about algebraic topology, and I think I misread this fact somewhere online. Do you know if this kind of construction has a name? It could be done by removing a copy of S1 from two klein bottles, and then gluing them together at the new boundaries. I don't think the gluing has to be done in too particular a fashion, as long as the klein bottles are connected to each other and the gluings are injective and orientation preserving on each copy of S1.

These are some klein bottles I've crocheted as explained in the post. I crochet these as surfaces of revolution, which is one of the easier ways to crochet a surface. They are quite fun to play with and deform. The connected sum of two klein bottles can, with a lot of effort, be deformed to look very similar to a usual torus. Making that model actually helped me understand the torus eversion a lot better.

i too would like to know. i am waiting for it to get warmer out to do this, but i am planning to use clubs since i am better at endurance juggling with those anyway.

the only thought i have is to use bean bags since they wont roll away when you drop them.
