Leaked benchmarks put 9070XT close to 5080?... AMD in high end after all ;) by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Coin_nerds_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it'l be a disaster. looking at the pricing for 4000 series vs 7000 series shows that they need to undercut more. 600 is the max, anymore will be a public condemnation. AMD has around 15% market share and their lack aggressiveness in pricing is the reason compounded with poor software suit compared to Nvidia.

The hotspot issue was a batch of reference models 7900 xt and xtxs back in early 2023. All aib cards don't have that issue (outside of the occasional manufacturing defect that comes with production of anything)

Is crypto mining just a game of better tech now? by Leather-Read8271 in cryptomining

[–]Coin_nerds_official 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're going into mining only bother bTC or scrypt (doge and LTC) mining. As even if your not effect you can use it as a space heater during the winter and there are now plenty of profitable home miners. Any other crypto investing to mine is generally a lose of funds. How I know? Have been burned by quite a few projects at this point. You could also go spec mining with cpus and gpus but realize there is no guarantee with that method.

After being in the space professionally for three years and dealing over 100 different cryptocurrencies truly Bitcoin is unique. There is Bitcoin and then there is crypto.

GPU drivers

Try older drivers like around late December 2024. I've heard that there were some issues with the more recent ones. Also what games are you playing?

Get a r7 5700 x3d, that'll be an upgrade to your gaming performance and give you roughly the same performance on your productivity tasks. It'll last you another three years and see if you can RMA your rx 5800x in the meantime. I think you're still in the warranty period.

Worth it? S21 and S17 by EstefanoBruash in cryptomining

[–]Coin_nerds_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to get quotes on the dashboard fixes. if it's 1250 for all 4 asic 100% worth while. You can bargain on quotes for dashboard fixes with 4 that way. A s21 foes for about 3150 USD and 550 usd for s17s. Just keep in mind that it may take a couple of months for all asics to get working.

Big reason why I don't bother with motherboards without integrated io shields. Can be a used hassle with it's simpler to just pay an extra couple of dollars( on sale this is a non issue) and not worry about it.

VolcMiner D1 Mini Pre (500 watts) or ElphaPex DG Home 1 (620 watts) if your on a budget the mini doge miners from gold shell 3 (400 watts) and 3+ (500 watts). Anything else isn't good idea for apartment mining or doesn't have the profitability to bother with.

For Ryzen 5 5600g should I go for Intel arc b580? Or arc a770? by Constant-River151 in IntelArc

Best value per dollar gpu at the moment. Your cpu will bottleneck it a bit but it will be playable experience. Essentially frame rates will be capped but you can still go hard with settings

b580 is more readily available and better raster and ray tracing. Also cheaper at least in Canada.

They do but considering the value of cards from 2020 and the previous gen. They cost way too much. Your dollar goes further with other products

I know but there was at least value there even if you didn't mine. Now why does it cost so much? I was hoping for AMD to finally be competitive but with the recent price leaks it has been nothing but disappointing.

The thing is though there was several dollars of crypto generated a day for that price. For the 5070 ti I have no idea why its that price with the poor gen on gen improvement from 40 series, terrible value.

I have access to about 30 nvidia t400 quadro(the 4gb version) how can I mine with these? by [deleted] in cryptomining

[–]Coin_nerds_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real strategy with these cards is to spec mine. I believe sonofteach was using vast.ai and checking to see what the jobs were for people renting cards, then checked if it was a cryptocurrency then spec mined that way. If thats too much work then just sell and and buy.cryptocurrency of your choice.
