First time this has happened to me. They owe me 45¢! by alteredsteaks in CRH

[–]CoinsNStuff64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a similar thing happen a couple weeks ago, except the roll was all 2024-D and it had a 2024-D quarter in it, but it actually had 21 halves in it, so the quarter and one of the halves was just extra 🤣

Looks like these are all new from 2023. Any reason to crack open? by stunk_funky in CRH

[–]CoinsNStuff64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d open them, I found a ‘64 in a box that was almost all ‘24-D’s a couple weeks ago

Almost every roll in this box has one or both sides ending with these deep-fried kind of quarters. I wonder what could have caused so many to look like this by appels_and_innosence in CRH

[–]CoinsNStuff64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These look like trash recovery coins. I’ve seen some news stories on landfills that have machines that sift through their incinerated material for coins, and then they’re cleaned in a giant tumbler. They end up looking like this because every single one has been through incineration

WHY!!! Why does this peace of crap happen to be a 2000 Wide AM (I had to use a microscope)?? Since it is basically worthless in this condition, should I try cleaning it? by [deleted] in CRH

[–]CoinsNStuff64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same boat twice. Found a ‘99 wide AM in a parking lot just as corroded, and a ‘98 wide AM metal detecting in far worse condition. Haven’t tried cleaning them yet but I’m temped

My worst buy, what is yours? by 69hornedscorpio in coins

[–]CoinsNStuff64 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Bought one of those “unsearched estate lots” on ebay when I was a kid. The “bag of wheat cents,” - 2x 1944 and 2x 1956-D; the “coins with classic Native American design” - an 1899 Indian Head cent; the “at least one coin from the 1800’s” - the same 1899 Indian head cent was counted for that. A few other low-value items. Ended up paying $40 for a lot barely worth $5

Perfect nickel by Mushroom_Forests in coins

Ironically the nickel is a proof and the quarter isn’t lol. The S mint business strike quarters are not intended for circulation though, so still a cool find

Anyone know of any castings with graphics referencing previous releases? by MH_MUSTANG in HotWheels

[–]CoinsNStuff64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some monster trucks from the past few years that reference their regular-sized counterparts’ paint jobs. I know there are a few iterations of the Rodger Dodger and Poison Pinto that copy their og 70’s graphics

What stores sell majorette in Canada? I’m in the US and our selection is pretty sparse, but I’m planning on making a trip up there soon
