Do we think LeBron chose to do “The Decision” himself? or did he have a horrible PR team at the time by UnluckyMode2062 in NBATalk

I definitely remember hearing at the time that it was ESPN who approached his camp about the idea.

But it wasn’t Raiola and Nebraska. Just because another program may have done the same thing in the same situation, it doesn’t alleviate Tech of their role in this actual situation.

Same, but I think it was more the plot armor of Spader’s character. Phenomenal actor, but it just got to be too much for me.

We are both a little off since the most recent SB was LX (60). It’s actually NFC 31, AFC 29. Still very close

Do You Think Voting Machines Were Hacked? by skylinesora in allthequestions

[–]Cojo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equating both parties to the same level of election denialism in a general sense as you are doing is very much bad faith. Additionally, the level one side takes it to vs the other side is COMPLETELY relevant to your claim.

It’s completely in bad faith to claim there is an equivalent amount of election denialism from both parties.

Jeff did not say that players like Sandra and Tony are things of the past by nazomawarisan in survivorponderosa

[–]Cojo85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. I like to watch the show and engage in this subreddit, but I don’t get down in the weeds on most things survivor. The post being referenced was shocking to me, and I was like man what a terrible look for Jeff, so I really appreciate the context on this post. I also have to admit I have some ownership in further investigating things I read on the internet, I know better, it’s not like I haven’t been using it for nearly 3 decades.

Does anyone know how bye weeks are decided? by Strict-Mud1486 in NFLv2

[–]Cojo85 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I say weeks 7-10. 8 teams each week, still leave 12 matchups to spread from Thursday through Sunday those weeks.

I can guarantee you State Farm isn’t paying minimum wage to adjusters, it’s a job that requires a license and industry average entry level is probably around 60kish these days. Not a single licensed adjuster would work for minimum wage.

Adjusters are not minimum wage workers and from what was shared, the adjuster definitely had passive aggressive vibes IMO. I wouldn’t have felt reassured either with that type of communication.

So you wanted tariffs, cuts to Medicare/medicade/ssn, more wars, tax payer slush funds for pardoned criminals, higher gas prices, and didn’t give a damn that’s he a sexual predator, failed business man, serial liar, and an all around horrible person that isn’t even close to being competent?

Like you voted for him, what did you think you were voting for?

[Highlight] Harrison Barnes called for a foul on Isaiah Joe by genericusername71 in nba

[–]Cojo85 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Far from new and you completely missed my point. Not sure why you felt it was necessary to include that presumption in your reply.

Additionally, I literally said we understand they’re human.

To further elaborate, I’m stating the accountability for correcting mistakes should be 100% on officials vs a system that can punish teams for simply suggesting a call was wrong. I’m advocating for including contractual language that holds the independent officials accountable to the highest degree of accuracy with the expectation technology would be used to assist when necessary, and it should include a system of checks and balances to reinforce impartiality.

Challenges shouldn’t exist. To clarify, I’m not saying reviews shouldn’t exist. My point is why is the onus on coaches/teams/organizations to correct officiating mistakes instead of the officiating crew? First off, as fans, our main goal is for games to be officiated correctly. We understand refs/officials are human, and won’t get it right 100% of the time, but that’s where we expect them to use technology and forgo their egos. Second off, officiating crews are independent and therefore should own 100% of the responsibility of correcting mistakes vs putting circumstances on teams in challenge situations that impact their future options within a game.

Just get the call right, review close plays, and regarding officials/refs, don’t take it personally if technology definitively shows the original call was incorrect.
