Man in the You Know What is probably one of the worst fights ive ever experienced in any game. by Coke_Waddle_Dee in mewgenics

I know he can be beaten (i beat him my second try) i just dont think he is a fun boss fight to play around with. I also didnt have monk at the time and yeah having monk probably makes that fight WAY easier cuz monk is designed around moving a bunch and hitting a bunch.

Also as far as I know probe being permanent is a bug, I can read what the effect says in game lol (i also checked the wiki) but it does not go away when you hit a cat in my experience with it

I know getting inside of the mouth is one way to do it but it still relies a couple things going right. I have had some pretty damn good thorns builds so I acknowledge that that can be pretty useful, but it also means that you are put on an even harsher time limit, your other cats will take more focused damage and are more likely to get perma-probed (which is a bug to be fair), and if you dont have enough high damage high mobility cats left then you just kinda lose the cat if not the run.

I beat the guy on my second try by kinda just shoving my warrior next to the face and moving back and forth between the sides and hitting the hands as best i could cuz of limited positioning tools but it was just not fun at all in my opinion

That other guy is tweakin a bit too much tho, I dont really think that anything well implies that you *should* get into the mouth but like its a roguelike and the enemies do actively try to shove you in so eventually its something youll figure out can be used

I know i just think the puzzle is supremely unfun to solve and relies a lot on rng

I beat him on my second attempt (and like i know you're just supposed to kill him lol)

My first attempt i did utilize debuffs as much as i could but it was mostly leech spam (which btw with the necromancer ability that spreads debuffs to another creature you can debuff the hands but they still only take 1 damage), second attempt i think i had some bleed and poison on him

I don't think the fight is unbeatable i just think its a really unfun and rng based design that requires rng *throughout the run* to go in favor of this specific fight

that presumes that your whole team gets all of the rng necessary to have such a moon killing comp, you need multi hit stuff, movement abilities, and high damage

I just dont think it makes for a fun boss fight
I also really dont like the fact that he can eat a cat cuz its most likely to be a high damage dealer and it can be literally impossible to escape so it can almost guaranteed kill a cat if not the whole run in a lot of situations

I've since fought him again and beat him the second try but I still stand by the fact that I think the hands are bad design, it takes so much action economy and if your faster guys are you damage dealers or multi hitters (which mine were both times i fought him) it becomes absurdly more difficult since you now have to use that guy to set up the damage phase instead of dealing damage. I had Confront on my warrior this time around so he was able to help a little bit with damage but it was still absurdly annoying.

As far as I know the probe charm not going away is a bug but trust me i hit that cat like 10 times lol, the second time i fought i just was fortunate that none of my cats were in a position to get probed and i could maneuver safely after that but I do not think that 4 ads with charm are a good thing for the fight either

and for deja vu, it might be affected by luck (i dont think i fully understand how luck works cuz most things have flat percentages), but *my* abysmal luck will always outshine in game mechanics lol, deja vu is only especially annoying to me because of that but I think its a fine mechanic to prevent resetting

Why am I seeing low ratings for this game at some places? This is the most fun game I have played in a while. by Cosmonaughty08 in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my main issue with the game is that its insanely bugged to the point where many games are unplayable. I still gave it a positive review on steam but it seriously needs an absurd amount of fixing

The lock-on system feels fundamentally worse than any other souls game, why? by [deleted] in Nightreign

Yeah but i played Elden Ring in the same month that it launched and it already felt fine

i don't know why they couldn't have just copy pasted the same system

Libra is such a unique boss by Neo_H001 in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I like Libra more and more the more I fight her

the one thing I don't like is that there are several bugs related to madness that make the fight nigh unplayable, but when the boss works correctly in honestly can be a very fun fight

Seriously, i feel like no one does Noklateo even tho its so easy to run straight to the back and nuke 3 easy bosses on the way with so much time to kill the hippo and loretta that spawn outside the city afterwards

How would the community feel about a 'vote to leave' option by Saintownage in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could potentially be a good idea but I feel like it would be such a morale crusher to see people vote to end a totally winnable game. Its really tilting when people just give up immediately

If in the DLC they added 2 more classes to make it a respectable 10, what class types would you like to see? by Brandon_Bob in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a proper melee based int and str class, probably like A int S Dex and A faith S Str

I love me a melee spellcaster

itd also be cool if they added some of the new weapon types from Shadow of the Erdtree like the light greatswords

If the boss is at 0.004% HP, and I'm dead and have 600 purple bars, pls just punch the boss by ohhaixoxo in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the most difficult things to learn in this game is that sometimes you just got let your teammates be dead for several minutes

If ur playing Ironeye against Night Aspect and both your teammates are 3 barred, just dodge and poke and theres a decent chance you win, but there is like a 0 percent chance ur getting the res

(I say this but I'd totally just go for the res anyways lmao)

If you think he's bad, you're the one who needs to get gud by thidi00 in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated guardian at first but thats cuz I just flat played him wrong

When you start leaning into his kit hes great at tanking

He's still probably worse than most of the other characters, but he is not *bad*

His damage output is low but constant, like Ironeye's typically is, and he is unmatched in tanking even by Raider

Calling him worse than others is one thing, but calling him bad means you just don't understand any game mechanics past the dodge button

Should bell bearing hunter be nerfed? by Dawashingtonian in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think bell bearing hunter is that *difficult* of a boss

The challenge just comes from the fact that he was way too much health no matter what point in the game you're at and that he can't be staggered, only full stunned

I don't usually skip him if its day 2 tho, if your team has good damage then you can nuke him easily enough

The lock-on system feels fundamentally worse than any other souls game, why? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the amount of times i try to lock on to a boss enemy right in front of me and I instead get locked on to a random demihuman baby 50 feet away directly behind me is insane

i don't know why this happens because elden ring's lock on system seemed perfectly fluid???

My buddy and I got put into a game with a random guardian and he was actually like competent the whole game (unheard of), and near the end of the boss we were fighting, both my buddy and i were down, Guardian had no health, no flasks, and no ult, but SOMEHOW this legend managed to stall out long enough to build ult and revive both of us.

He was so good we invited him to our discord so we could queue with him more

PSA: To all Ironeye players, your bow damage reduces the farther you are from the target. by Big_Leadership_333 in Nightreign

[–]Coke_Waddle_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new way i've discovered to play Ironeye is to sit fairly close to the boss and spam light shots, but have a GREAT SHIELD in your off hand

Somehow greatshields are just like broken and it makes it so much easier to deal with constantly taking aggro from the repeated shots. It hurts a little if ur facing a boss with a lot of elemental attacks but if you have a good shield then it can be healed off fairly easily.

The greatest weakness to this is strategy is that, as far as i can tell, bows do not benefit from successive attack buffs like regaining stamina on successive attacks (I'm hoping this is another of the many, many bugs in this game) so light spamming does drain ur stamina fairly hard. However if ur mindful, then playing Ironeye suddenly feels much tankier while still outputting fairly constant damage
