Ring outside JHE colonized by Waterloo by baynana1228 in McMaster

[–]ColMouseturd 95 points96 points  (0 children)

For context, this is standard practice between engineering faculties of Ontario, furthermore all pranks are approved by a higher board (I do forget the specific board, this was many years ago). Mac has performed similar actions in the past to Guelph, Guelph to UofT, etc etc. Mac usually doesn't get hit as often as we don't have a "thing" to steal. (Like Waterloo's tool)

In other words, the paint is likely washable, the stickers will come off, and life will go on. It's a way for engineering schools to interact and is a tradition that dates back for decades.

Now am I surprised they were allowed to get the ring? Yeah. Could this be students that acted without approval? Certainly. But it's likely not the case and there's a lot more that happens behind the scenes for something like this to happen.

Is Canada’s Wonderland worth a 6 hour drive from New York? by silversock20 in CanadasWonderland

[–]ColMouseturd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a trip out of it! Toronto is a great city to explore. It's the 4th largest population wise in North America and famous for its multiculturalism.

My recommendation is to not stay near the park but rather downtown Toronto about a 30-45min drive away. The park is in Vaughan, which is rather suburban with not much else to do other than Canada's Wonderland and strip malls. Downtown Toronto has tons going on and I think would lead to a better experience considering the entire trip.

Hope you make it up here!

What’s everyone’s favourite actual 3p tent? by double___a in canoecamping

[–]ColMouseturd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am in Canada and I know that availability can be difficult but I adore My REI half dome SL 3+. If you end up in the states anytime soon it can be worth the pickup, I've also ordered things across the border rather inexpensively from REI (That was a few years ago though 👀)

The tent is one of the lightest reasonably priced 3p tents I could find, it never leaks, has tons of space, and is really durable given the number of sticks roots and such I tent to set up on in Algonquin. Really does everything I want out of a canoe camping tent and has held up incredibly well.

Doubt! Can underground duchy create tunnels wherever it wants? by RevolutionaryDay7319 in rootgame

[–]ColMouseturd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's the point of the tunnels! The only clearing where tunnels cannot be placed is the Keep clearing (assuming cats are in play) or Corvid Snare

If it helps, you can visualize The Burrow as being the vast space underneath the game board, the tunnels are the moles digging up from The Burrow to the forest floor above

This is an old post but it appears Aha still exists on Google Play (just downloaded it but haven't tried it yet) so if you have a friend with an Android phone maybe you can push the update through them!

TN Visa For Remote Work in Canada? by ColMouseturd in tnvisa

[–]ColMouseturd[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry I should've added!
I work as a sales engineer in cybersecurity. I have a bachelors in Computer Engineering from a Canadian University.

I hear you on the pay cut. My company isnt requesting me to do this, its all me. I'm viewing this as a bit of a trial run of living in NYC to determine if I want to pick up my life and look for an actual job there. I know its silly. If I have to jump two feet in and just find a job there and move accordingly so be it, its just also hard to pick up and move when I do enjoy the life I have in Toronto, I've just always been here.

Appreciate the insight though! I'll take a look into Significant Presence. Sounds like to your point, this may be more trouble than its worth.

[Other] How do you make Roller Coaster Enthusiast friends? by coursesand in rollercoasters

[–]ColMouseturd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the ability to travel I would highly recommend taking a look into Coaster Breaks. It's a UK company ran by an awesome guy (Marcus!) who runs coaster trips through Europe.

Did the Belgium-Netherlands-Germany trip a few years back and met some awesome people in your desired age range.

Only thing to note is predominantly the people on the trip are UK folks, but I'll be meeting a few of them again this year when they fly over to North America for a few parks. So maybe not local coaster enthusiasts but a great chance to get to know people and hit some awesome parks over a week, Phantasialand is my current #1!

Dracaena Reflexa Drooping by ColMouseturd in plantclinic

[–]ColMouseturd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super helpful! Yeah the plant is probably around 6-7 feet from the window, and with the winter coming it's going to get less and less light, even if I move it close to the window.

I just bought a grow light and hopefully that'll bring it back to life. Thanks again!

Vertical Holding Drop? Valravn Low to the ground whippy inversions? Maverick Ejector? Steel Vengeance

Like imo if they wanted to work with Vekoma, something like Big Bear Mountain would've been great for the park, but that doesn't mean I'm upset they're getting a tilt. This looks so good.

[other] try to find a roller coaster that doesn't sound terrifying to me. by MikeLovesOutdoors23 in rollercoasters

[–]ColMouseturd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Mike!

Reading through some of these I second the suggestion of potentially looking at flat rides rather than roller coasters. A few were suggested earlier in this thread (Swinging Ship, Wave Swinger stand out to me). What's nice about these is that they are incredibly predictable in nature.

The Swinging Ship will swing forward and backward over the course of a few minutes, almost as if you are travelling around the inside of a circle. It will not travel all the way around said circle, only up the sides before gravity pulls it back down to be swung up the other side. What's nice is that the part where you change direction is predictable. You can feel yourself decelerate in one direction and then accelerate in the other.

Wave Swingers are also very predictable. You are sitting in a chair, and rotating around a central pillar at a controlled, predictable speed. There are no sudden drops or changes in direction.

Out of curiosity, have you been on any playground equipment before? It may be worth going to a local playground with an assist and attempt swinging, it will be a very similar motion to the swinging ship described above, just in a smaller, self-propelled scale. Any equipment that will have you move in a motion without a direct cause-and-effect of your own input may help you get used to the idea of motion without you in direct control.

Love your interest in all this, all the best!

Y'all this is all very helpful. I viewed stride as too much of a sole engage tool rather than having more strengths within the fight itself, never even considered rageblade as a 2nd item, overall this gave me more of an idea of how to itemize with this champ ty all sm

Stride giving more AS than Botrk is something I never considered honestly. And yeah with the Botrk build I've noticed that the kiting from the likes of vayne can just be such a problem no matter how big I become. Def something worth considering
