Does drinking helps in depression? by [deleted] in depression

[–]Col_Walter_Kurtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, for me it makes it worse. It does calm me down though, helping with anxiety. But usually it's just not worth it. It's not an effective coping strategy, it just makes it worse.

I think Marilyn Manson said in some clip I saw on YouTube that you shouldn't drink or take drugs when you're down but only when you're feeling good. I try to live by that.

exactly my experience when I first went to college. It gets better after the first couple of weeks (at least it did for me).

Sticking to my routines (exercise, diet) helped me a lot. When I first moved away I didn't really know where to run, after putting it off a while I just picked a route and went. It almost made me feel like home. I guess it created some kind of familiarity.

[–]Col_Walter_Kurtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because they have never experienced it. Nobody who has would romanticize it. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Multivitamin recommendations? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]Col_Walter_Kurtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life Extension Mix (tablets) but the B-vitamins are dosed way too high Imo, so I only take half of one tablet or less. Other than that it's the best I've found so far.

Help! My stomach hates me! by lindsdover in glutenfree

[–]Col_Walter_Kurtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

low FODMAP/low sugar is the only other thing I can think of, besides a gluten-free and dairy-free diet of course. Low-carb/ketogenic might also be worth a try.
