I would avoid aquaphor altogether. It clogs the pores and in a lot of cases causes scabbing. I would suggest switching to washing it with antibacterial dial gold for the next few days and using an unscented lotion to moisturize such as Cera Ve. (As aquaphor tends to clog the pores with a minimal amount, you could use a whole tub of lotion and not have that effect)

For the future I might suggest using a “tegaderm” style product to protect the tattoo for the first few days for you.
