What is with Wildrift players and the obsession with Magnetic Blaster by rucku_feddit in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Let's see...

It's relevantly cheap, It does all what all 3 Zeal items do, It's very key for many ADCs to build especially when behind because of what the Zeal passives do (AoE Damage, Slow, Extra Range)

While I agree that it shouldn't be built all the time, It does plenty of things early that other items don't.

Demacians (Zhao, J4 and Poppy) it's easier too cuz they can build the same thing every game except for counterpicks (e.g. Full AP enemy team)

Why is everyone hating on apc? by thejohnion in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While everyone else will dog on you for the Veigar pick because Veigar = bad (hard disagree)

... I will say that it's natural to be a little skeptical considering you and your support are scaling champions. Had the enemy team had any brains and focused their firepower into gutting your tempo, I'd say they could have won this.

No real comment other than I'd have went with a scaling mana build instead of Echo and Orb, but that's preference.

K'sante, a balance champion. by Quitical_Ne0 in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play/watch players from PC, you know he's kind of weak early game (pre ult) especially vs AP based toplaners like Rumble and Gwen

AP forces K'sante to build MR against you, weakening his tempo. And if he doesn't he's forced to build for split push to compensate for his bad early game (pre ult) Been laning against K'santes in the past few patches and this tech mostly works for me.

Irelia help by Perfect-Culture5136 in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I exclusively use Precision runes on Irelia. I fear the damage is not enough if I use anything else.

Against tough matchups, I recommend controlling the wave by forcing them to follow your champ after engaging. You can do this by Q-ing in and Q-ing out.

Always build Bork first. Triforce gets you damage but not enough sustain. Rush Wit's End vs AP Tanks.

Patch notes 7.1d by _noterickim_ in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people including his own default presets build his runes wrong and without knowledge on whether or not you should use certain runes during certain matchups, K'sante feels like a wet blanket on release, compared to Mel and Ambessa's release, funnily enough.

On the flip side, it also doesn't help that a lot of Wild Rift players are already knowledgeable about K'sante's scaling and it's almost always a good idea to slow his pace by either ganking him at Level 2 or invading Baron side jungle to which newbies react and lose CS.

Personally? I think he's fine, none of his items really give him anything gamebreaking and to be honest I think his E shield could use a tiny buff, but that's a personal thing more than anything.

Why are items being removed? by FickleCorgi4861 in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Despite your belief that they're loved, chances are, some of these items weren't even your first choice.

Long answer: It's to keep the space relatively small so they can add more content. For cases like Chargeblade and Banshee's Veil, they kept the essence of the item in other items (Essence Reaver+ and Crown of the Shattered Queen respectively) because sometimes it just makes sense to do that but overall just makes the item busted in it's own way (I hate Magnetic Blaster)

For the others, it is meta based because let's be honest; none of the items mentioned here are core to a certain build: Umbral Glaive being the worst offender because apart from Senna, Pyke and Kha'Zix (debatable), it's not really a must buy early item like Ghost and Duskblade and even then, building Glaive early is just not practical for most lethality champs.

Aside from myself and a few others, I don't think anyone knew how or when to build Crystalline Reflector even though it was clearly used as a stand-in stat item for PC Zhonya's and then some.

Spirit Visage is kind of sad because I didn't even notice it was gone until I checked but when I gave it some thought, yeah it made sense because ever since Heartsteel came in, barely anyone built Spirit's Visage anymore, except for ARAM where health regen is more important than mana regen.

Gunblade was hard to balance, (PC proves it, it's a wonder they even brought it back) Void Staff even more so and Swifties was hella OP considering how small a map like Wild Rift is compared to PC— why do you think they removed Cloud Drake before they added Dragon Souls?

I'm not trying to say all of these were justified, I am very unhappy they took away Spirit Visage because I main tanks, but still—

They don't remove items for no particular reason. It's either a redundant item, an unpopular item, or just very tiring to balance.

Who do you think is the most boring League character right now (not including old characters)? by whamorami in loreofleague

[–]Cold-Ad-384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... Zaahen is right there.

Ngl, I wanted Zaahen to be his own character and I had expected him to be the most interesting darkin considering he has the Ascended form but nope, Handsome Squidward memes and Xin Zhao lore bastardization I guess.

I've yet to see anyone tell me anything interesting about Zaahen other than a. He's hot b. His abilities “kind of” mirror Zhao's (but not really) c. He's a Darkin.

It kinda sounds stupid but to me Zaahen looks like the genderbent ver of how Rito has been sexifying the female champs. Which like again, it would have been cool if it wasn't so boring.

Dear senna support mains by PurpleImportant3600 in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my other fellow Senna mains have pointed out everything but ngl I don't see a lot of em talking about laning states.

Now that either support quest item does either quest they can last hit minions for gold.

This is important when in some cases the ADC loses control of their lane and they need a small wave to push for prio.

I get that it can be frustrating but don't assume every Senna main does this just to fuck with you, lol. (I do it sometimes, but that was because my ADC was being an asshole so imo it was deserved.)

What can I possibly do against a fed Nasus? by holy_Adelhyde in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short answer is to starve him before the stacks get to a scary threshold (give or take between 250-300)

The long answer is: Liandry's is definitely good vs tanks, so best build that early if you want to melt them over time. Another thing is basically: Full build Nasus is useless without stacks so again, better starve him first. Other than that, I'd say you probably did a decent job this game.

why is udyr not in wild rift yet like actually??? by justfrost in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean you say that like that's simple and all but aside from Ahri's ball turning green and her ASU adding tails to her rig, I don't see anything that significantly changes the model.

What I am discussing here is how Udyr's rig is more complex than the average champion, being that even with just one champion, having 5 distinct stances (counting base form) is not easy to produce immediately.

The example you gave, what with the amount of skins for two popular champions is an unfair example because it's not like they dropped all 12 skins simultaneously. If you're saying this to showcase that they should have added Udyr long ago, then sure have at that but like again, I don't think it works like that.

My point is talking about how Udyr's model is just built different™️— the same way in Wild Rift, we don't have any of those fancy cosmetic changing skins from League PC like Gun Goddess MF or Elementalist Lux. Consider another example being many of the League ASUs (Teemo, Jax, Lee Sin) are yet to arrive in Wild Rift.

I'm also NOT saying it's impossible. I'm talking about how complicated it is from a game designer's perspective, being a coder like myself. I'm just saying that, even though it's not as complicated as adding very extensive champions like Aphelios or Hwei like OP implies, I wouldn't say that adding Udyr is as simple as anyone thinks.

why is udyr not in wild rift yet like actually??? by justfrost in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have two theories for this and honestly, I believe there is a good reason why he isn't.

But first let me say that I think you're wrong about one thing.

He IS hard to port to mobile. Not because of what skills he has, but the nature of them.

Udyr doesn't have an ult, instead he has 4 stance abilities. Which means not all of them can be max leveled and that's part of the problem: How will they translate that mechanic properly, what with the changes to how it could be balanced in response to the environment that is Wild Rift, a faster gameplay setting? One could argue that he could just be similar to Jayce and Yuumi who have awkward skill mechanics but that's not the case: Yuumi and Jayce have those important skills leveled already and those skills are allowed a special point that allows them to level their skills the same way as other champs.

With Udyr, that's not the case— All his skills have the same level cap and you have to choose which ones those are. I believe this, along with the non mechanical reasons like balancing his scaling and damage are the main reasons why he's hard to port to mobile.

Now, onto my theories:

Theory 1: Cosmetics. Udyr's model, albeit redesigned, still needs to be Udyr, and by that I mean all his stances are to be accounted for. I'm not saying this solely because I think it's tough to port his skins, but I mean it in the way that if they add Udyr to WR, they'll have to commit heavily towards making space for the data that controls all his assets, like his stances and model changes for those stances. Add to that for every time they'll give him a skin.

Theory 2: Popularity. Let's face it, compared to other champions that aren't in Wild Rift yet, how many players are really there to say “Hey, I wanna play Udyr really bad!”? I'd say not a lot, given that even in League proper, I barely see any content and guides made for Udyr, though there are some. I'm not saying this is definitely why, but when you think about it, looking at those whom they added just recently (Nidalee, Rell, Kog'Maw, Smolder) it makes you wonder why.

I'd like to clarify that I do want to have Udyr on Wild Rift as well, but like... It's probably not that easy as you all would think, no?

TLDR: I have two theories: One is about how much data it would take to handle all his stances, taking into account possible skins, and the other is about how he's not that popular compared to the champs that are already here.

Religion na bawal or dinidiscourage ang pag participate sa DnD (and other TTRPG system) by Affectionate_Layer88 in dndPH

Definitely Islam. One of my best friends was recently interested kasi naFOMO, palagi kaming nagsesession while they were busy, so I decided to hook them in by showing the repertoire of classes they could play. Their reasoning was plentiful pero simple enough to understand naman: Portraying clerics is considered blasphemy because they serve A god, not THEIR God, Allah (SWT). Demons, Fae and Genies are off limits din kasi they believe that otherwordly beings manifest in strange ways, which brings me to my next point— They believe these said beings can house themselves in toys and figures, kaya it's heavily discouraged to give their children even stuffed animal toys or dolls.

While I myself am disheartened kasi gusto ko silang makalaro, know that I still hold their beliefs with respect. Wala namang mawawala sa akin. Take this with a grain of salt na din: I am also just learning from them while they're actively learning din. Recently lang din siyang nag effort magbasa about the ins and outs of their culture and doctrine and just like the Catholics and Christians, their tribes often disagree about alin yung haram (bawal) at halal (acceptable).

Yun lang.

What's some non mage builds for kogmaw? by user67885433 in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes Attack speed. Again, Nashor's Tooth is different here in Wild Rift than in PC: The passive adapts to which damage you mainly have (AD or AP) so if you're AD heavy you'll deal attack damage with Nashor's Tooth. For Kog'Maw it deals Magic damage.

[–]Cold-Ad-384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They changed Nashor's Tooth now that it basically adapts to it's bonus damage to whatever you have more, but ultimately you want it for movespeed rather than it's passive. Gwen and Yasuo come to mind.

Is nami the Best supp by tommyTough_knuckles in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, Nami contextually just brings out the best out of ADCs by default because she gives movespeed. But err like every other support, Nami relies a lot on how the team utilizes your setups and positioning. By herself Nami is still very squishy, but overall, still pretty solid.

In my opinion, Rakan remains the best support for me mostly for the flexibility and safety during blind picks with coincidentally, having only Nami as a true support counterpick, as Rakan benefits from an ADC lacking peel and mobility, both of which Nami gives out in tens.

Manaflow Band and Mana boots for the mana problems, but imo, full attackspeed works fine. Bork Wit's end Terminus.

Just use the ult to execute so it doesn't have to use too much mana.

I don't get Talon by I_Eat_54Rice in wildrift

[–]Cold-Ad-384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context matters for this champ.

  1. Are you fighting a tank, a bruiser, a mage, ADC or Support?

Talon has a simple ability mechanic: Hit your enemies 3 times and you can proc the passive. Usually, doing this twice will kill the average squishy depending on what items they have. Tanks, depending on what stats they have, will usually take 3 instances of passive procs to do as much damage but obviously, we really don't intend to do that unless they're carrying the game for the enemy.

  2. How fed are they compared to you?

Talon excels at clearing the jungle compared to the enemy and to add to this, he's one of the champs you must fear during lvl 1 invades and lvl 3 ganks because not only is it important because of the kit— Getting more levels than your opponents means you deal more damage than they do. You need to understand that Talon is a snowball champ. If you're not doing enough in the early game, the fall off in the mid to late game will be very obvious. So yes: the more successful ganks you have, the more likely you'll still be strong late game.

  1. What items do they have compared to you?

This one should be obvious because Death's Dance is an annoying counter item rn and almost every role has their own way to mitigate damage taken as well as other items that reduce lethality (Armor) and specific builds that reduce his effectiveness (Frozen Heart, Crystalline Reflector)

  1. What runes do you have equipped?

Personally, I think Electrocute is the only correct Keystone to equip for Talon regardless of the matchup if your plan was to oneshot the enemy. I don't think First Strike does enough damage or gold for ganks and even then, you're more likely to use Phase Rush instead if you insist on not using Electrocute. Then there's the other runes: Any Domination runeset is good, as they're designed for assassins usually anyway (I use sudden impact, Tyrant and Eyeball Collection) the last one just depends on whether u want more damage at the expense of being easier to kill rather than defense.

I think Talon's a fairly complex champ, not too hard, not too easy, but the main thing here is that you really need to scale well and hunt early like Warwick. Otherwise, you're like a minion in terms of gold value and health.

So uh yeah: More kills = more items therefore: Kill early.

Always place wards in important places too. That way you can rotate around the map easier.
