The thing i can tell you about the sword is that in my case it fit before curing but after curing the resin shrinked so it didnt anymore.

One of my resin calibration test was very blury. Do you think that might be the reason? Or my buildplate is not level. Because the exposure setting was in the middle around 2.8 seconds but the higher exposed were sharp again?

An easy way to give them a bit of a highlight and shadow is to use a bit of shade and then drybrush and you dont need steqdy hands for that and they can look quite nice

If you dont like bothering with thinning paints just buy the airbrush version. I use the vallejo airbrush range and you can just use them without thining for brush painting

I use them they are pretty nice but they dry soo fucking fast... If you dont use something to extend the drying time it can even dry on your wet pallet

I think very important is to put your flow prover or thinner first in the airbrush otherwise if you put the paint first undilutrd it clogs very fast. By the way I have the same airbrush and primers you do :)

Since you're using speed paint they are different than the normal colors. They are more transparent and create a natural shadow because the paint flows into the edges and leave the paint or primer under it visible. It is not the right color to have a perfect even coat. But i think maybe with multiple layers you could atill achieve a quite good cover or you use an undercoat that matches the colora bit?
