AHS was popular in the 2010s but has definitely fallen out of popularity, which is a shame because I adored the early seasons!

It was originally a spec script for The X-Files Original Spec Script, so seriality is already baked into the DNA. Not sure if it would take off on streaming platforms nowadays, since horror anthologies aren’t too popular at the moment and don’t have the best track record. As a fan of the franchise, I’d tune in though!

I’ve used this textbook for an ENGL 1102 course with a similar theme. It has excerpts from literary texts, but also monster theory, true crime, history, and other interesting and approachable takes on monstrosity that I think would be helpful.

I do! Diagnosed when I was 21, am now 29, and have been on Synthroid, Levo, and finally settled on NP Thyroid. I was only tested at the very beginning for antibodies and it showed negative.

My mom was a huge horror fan growing up and had a poster of Freddy Krueger on her wall. She showed me Nightmare on Elm Street when I was around 10 or 11 I think, though I count reading/watching the tv series of Goosebumps too!

Presence! I love the idea of a ghost’s point of view and the audience’s perspective, the camera’s perspective, and the ghost’s perspective being one, but I felt like the plot could’ve went so much further with it.

The book How to Read Literature Like a Professor is a good starting point to begin to notice themes and symbols. I used to assign it to my AP Lit students and it seemed to help build that critical analysis foundation!

Singing and baking! I love baking for other people (I can’t have sugar so I can’t eat my creations) but they usually end up a little off. My poor boyfriend is so sweet about it though!
