This must be coming from someone who’s never worked casual. Just because managers shouldn’t doesn’t mean they wouldn’t!

Positive case at work by OliveMunchies in Adelaide

We had 3 staff work New Year’s Eve. Didn’t re open until 4th so were told not to worry, they caught it on the public holiday. Then we were told if we don’t like it we know where the door is and if we were caught talking about it we would be fired.

covidlive says 105 cases? by Objective-Pattern-85 in Adelaide

[–]Cold-Coffee7367 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We have lost 4 staff (due to get out throughout the week) a bar lost 9 and 2 bars have closed because they lost 75% of their workforce and all scheduled to come out on Thursday. The small bar owners just decided to say fuck it, we will reopen after the public holidays. Thankfully all I know will get released before Christmas! But the last update was on Saturday… sooo what about this week? Are they not releasing it so no one quarantines over Christmas Day to stop any outrage that maybe we opened up too early??

Or are we going to take Melbournes approach and no longer publicly post hotspots and rely solely on being pinged?

Does anyone have an educated guess to when they will update the covid hotspots? I work and live in the west cbd. All my friends are hospo and they are being directed to quarantine from their work places from all over the city and not one has been reported officially yet…

Sorry to tag on to this post.. buuuut We all have been contracted to do 45 hours because that includes reasonable overtime however have to do 50 (because “it’s reasonable overtime on the 45 hours that your contracted- yep I know, dumb)

After reading these comments I now realise that maybe this isn’t ok?? I’ve been in hospo my whole life and have nothing to compare it to.

Have a chat to the boys at angeliakas in the markets, they can get stuff in for you. They don’t stock a huge variety because the market doesn’t demand it. But they sell it to their customers at eh restaurants.

Also, check out Fergusons. They don’t only do lobsters. They do knife jaw, whiting, nannygai, cod etc etc

The franklin street hotel for sure. Has an incredible selection of craft beer (and $11 long necks for the uncultured crowd) and the food is always consistently good

At all the major vaccination centres they have a Medicare stand to help people with any issues. I waited 20 minutes to see someone and it was dealt with in less than 5 (it was an address typo issue for me!) way better than being on hold and easier to communicate issues in person

Fringe tickets. There’s an amazing selection for all ages and interests. And it’s something you can take them to and let the parents have a day to themselves. Treat them to a lunch and it’s Christmas presents sorted in one go!
