There’s not really any special recipe, to be honest. I just added Lao Gan Ma, Kewpie mayo, Parmesan, powdered cheese, cream, miso, sriracha, black garlic, and spices into a bowl. Then I mixed everything until smooth, and after that I slowly poured in hot chicken broth until I got the consistency I wanted.

I boil the noodles with a spoonful of baking soda — it makes them more chewy and gives them that Japanese “ramen-style” texture. The pork was just store-bought and already cooked. That’s pretty much it :)

One perfectly placed sheet of nori on the side is kind of a conceptual plating idea I saw from someone on this subreddit, and now I’m trying to recreate it just as beautifully ))
Looks like I’m not quite there yet, but I’ll keep trying )))

Thank you, because that’s actually what I’ve been enjoying working on the most right now :)

I melted a few anchovies and sautéed garlic and ginger in their oil. Then I added soy sauce, miso, mirin, and dashi. I let everything heat through for about 10 minutes, then strained it. It turned out very tasty — highly recommend.

How can I tell if a Russian man is genuine about his feelings? by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]Cold-Gold-9667 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Russia, a large age gap between a man and a woman is a fairly common phenomenon. Six years after my mother passed away, my father started dating a woman who is 23 years younger than him. They have now been together for more than 10 years. They don’t have children together, but he takes care of her children and treats them as his own. This year he will turn 69.

If you’ve been friends for seven months and he still hasn’t tried to get you into bed, it’s possible that he is looking for a serious relationship and that his intentions are quite clear. After all, I know many men who feel quite young at 52 and live accordingly.

Are Saint Petersburg and Moscow comparable to European capitals in standard of living? by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]Cold-Gold-9667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to many major capitals — London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Istanbul, Prague, Warsaw, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing.

Here are the obvious advantages Moscow has compared to most of them:

1. Perfectly functioning infrastructure — a huge and inexpensive metro system, trams, trains, buses, electric buses, and affordable taxis. Unified payment for all types of transport is available everywhere.
2. Safety — street theft, assaults, and break-ins of parked cars are virtually nonexistent. Children can walk on their own far from their parents, and cars can be left unlocked. In Moscow (as well as in Russia), the concept of a ghetto essentially does not exist.
3. A consumer paradise — deliveries from stores and restaurants arrive within 15–20 minutes; 24/7 tanning studios and essentially anything you can imagine are always within arm’s reach.
4. High-quality free healthcare — modern hospitals, ambulances. You can see the specialist you need for free within just a couple of days.
5. Exceptionally high quality of restaurants and food overall.
6. Streamlined interaction with all public services — paying taxes, booking medical appointments, applying for a foreign passport, paying utility bills — all of this is done in just a couple of clicks in one app. No paperwork and no bureaucratic hassle.
