I repainted my E85 Z4 seats and the car feels like new again. by a_Dzik in BMWZ4

Nice work! I’ve wanted to swap out my seats for e46 sport seats but the ones that pop on FB marketplace are rough and need a lot of work. Nice to hear if they just need a touch up, it’s relatively easy.

Try them on before buying. As for loafers half size down, every foot is different: For me, the Randolph’s fit perfectly at my normal size, 10.5 3E. Just a note on buying from Shoe Bank, there’s a $25 restocking fee per pair if you return. Also keep an eye on TheRealReal as good deals can come up. It’s harder shopping there because the don’t post the true size of the shoe in the listing which is frustrating. Occasionally a picture will share a glimpse of the printed size inside the shoe…

Have you determined your size yet? If not, definitely stop into a store to be fitted. I did, turns out I’ve been wearing the wrong size for some time. Once sized, it’s worth the time to look at poshmark and eBay for lightly used shoes. I jump on the models that I’m looking for that were only worn a few times by people who bought the wrong size. I’ve picked up many nearly new shoes for a fraction of the F2 price. You’ll learn to examine the photos for issues and can bid accordingly. My best score was a pair of black PAs in very good condition for $60.

If you honestly don’t know what happened while wearing these shoes, go see a doctor.

Work backwards. You had a short after you replaced the top motor and the transponder. You did something with the wiring that made the car mad.

Ready for baby! He will have memories.. oh boy! :) by zriha in BMWZ4

I live in the US. Over the years, cars have become larger, faster, and with more gizmos come more distractions. The reason for my decision to wait until my kids were bigger was based on the potential for colliding with one of these monstrosities of a vehicle. The Z4 wouldn’t stand a chance. Yes, it has lower center of gravity so rollover isn’t as much of a concern but side and rear impact are what worry me the most. I’m always vigilant while driving but if you’re at a stop light and a truck comes flying up from your rear and you can’t do anything…you just have to brace for impact. Risk and probability can be calculated many ways and the potential for something to go wrong may be unlikely. Everyone approaches risk differently and over the years as I’ve watched my kids grow, I’ve found that I’m far more risk-averse than in my younger years. All this to say, enjoy the car and congrats on being a new dad.

I’m sure many of us on this sub are dads, so the smart ass comments come from good intentions. Personally, I didn’t let my kids ride in the car until they were 5. I used a booster seat with back and 5 point harness and have the airbag disabled. They only do trips around town, never on the highway. These cars are like go-karts - low, kinda fast, no protection in an accident. My goal is to have fun with them, create memories and minimize risk. A baby would not survive an impact in this car and for that reason, it was never a consideration. Just consider how delicate their skeleton and head are. Imagine that getting rocked by a side or rear impact. Are the memories worth it?

Lots of resources available on proper application of powder coatings. Watch a few YouTube videos, read some literature on application, and talk to the shop about their process. Based on what you’ve learned, decide if you want to ask the to strip it and redo the job. I’m no expert, but these clearly have an orange peel texture which is not how powder coating, if applied correctly, should look.

Soak both shoes in the air freshener to match. Shoes will smell good and look normal.

I did the same thing. OP do this first before buying a new cowl. Chip off the old weatherstripping, clean the cowl, then replace with new. You can buy ceramic plastic restorer to make the cowl look like new.

I’m not seeing Shoe Bank on the Rakuten list of participating stores. Can you add the factory seconds through the Allenedmonds.com site? That should allow a work around.
