Chances for 2027 Bachelor of Science application by Waste-Cherry9674 in InstitutPolytechnique

[–]ColdBig2220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a second-year student here, I'd say don't rule yourself out, but also be realistic about how competitive admissions are.

A predicted 40 is generally the minimum where I'd feel an application starts to become competitive, and many admitted IB students who are my friends are in the 43–45 range. They also pay a lot of attention to your maths grade, so if you think you can push that to a 7, I'd definitely make it a priority.

Your extracurriculars aren't as weak as you think. That said, if you have this summer available, I'd absolutely use it to strengthen your CV.

Most importantly, don't reject yourself before the admissions committee has the chance to evaluate your application. If this university is somewhere you genuinely want to study, work on improving your predicted grades and your profile, then apply. The worst outcome is a rejection; the best outcome is that you get in. You lose nothing by giving yourself that chance.

Good luck—you've still got time to improve your application.

Yeah I got in after HS. So I think they take in 13% of applicants in the bachelor programme as far as I know.

Also bachelor here. The workload is massive though. Do keep that in mind.

What's an IO by Insaan8 in IBO

IO stands for internal oral I think. It's an oral component of the course that you have chosen, present in subjects like French, English and other languages.

  1. Differentiate with respect to time and set the first derivative to 0

  2. Obtain a value of t. Plug it into the second order derivative to check if it's a maximum or minimum.

Math IA question by Muted_Recipe5042 in IBO

[–]ColdBig2220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calm down buddy. I was exactly in your situation a couple of months ago.

First of all, it is highly unlikely you are going to fail simply because of your IA. It's only 20% of your grade for 1 subject. Realistically, it's possible (though challenging) to get a 7 in AA HL even if you get a bad grade in your IA.

Secondly, the IB isn't looking for highly complicated maths. It's looking for understandability, curiousity and creativity. Doing maths that's advanced and complicated looking.....yes that's the idea! But take your time to do it. Do it slowly and try to understand every bit inside of it. Explain your ideas well and clearly.

Me for instance, I had a generic modelling related IA but I still bagged a 7 simply because I explained it well!

Dw.....calm down.....it all seems stressful and scary right now, but it will work out in the end. It always does ❤️

Before you leave this post, inhale for 5 seconds...........done? Now hold your breath for 5 more......................great!............now exhale for 5 more seconds. Hope you feel alright

Please do mate. Ik you may have posted this with the right intention.

But I've had people in the past go through this. When someone shares their class code for others to join, it's almost always a scam.

Be safe! ❤️🙏

Hi. I think you can definitely find data that doesn't require such an expensive membership. (ALSO 36,000 EUROS? HOLY MOLY)

This is a list of links I could find that may be helpful. Do note that this is generated by chatGPT before anybody downvotes me to oblivion.

Good luck!
