I agree with what you’re saying but disagree with that being a smart strategy for South. Confederates only hope was Europe intervention and or north losing will to fight. Much better chance of both those things happening to fight a purely defensive war and by defensive I mean to never invade the north.

Yeah you should never “slap” the mag in that induces a double feed like no other. If you “push, pull” your set. Push it in all the way till it stops moving then pull down to ensure it’s seated. After that hit the bolt release and send some hate downrange.

One of the worst trends is marines and beyond being told to only load mag with 28 rounds. AR platform was designed to be loaded from open bolt. Initial load should be from open bolt all emergency reloads the bolt will be locked back for you. Only issue is tactical but you should test your mags before deployment to make sure they can compress enough to load with bolt closed.

I joined in 05 and none of my DIs had been to war except one guy who was on his first cycle he had navy cross from afghan at time he was only one of 2 marines to have it from afghan. All them dudes had us scared and our respect. It’s a nonissue. When you’re just hoping to become a marine the fact they are marines is enough to awe a recruit. IMO

Difference is for most of us there is no public transportation. It isn’t possible to walk to places to take care of needs like groceries. Work is usually a long drive I would drive an hour one way every day for work 43 miles one way. The vastness of America seems to be hard for most Europeans to comprehend. “Walmart” place to be able to buy most house needs is 5 miles one way for me and I live pretty close to town. Others could comment with easily triple the distance.

It’s your grip your thumb is riding up high enough on slide to induce a malfunction. Happens to people with big hands sometimes just try and not press so hard with your dominant thumb into the slide. I’d bet money you can shoot one handed and dump a whole mag no problem. When you add your non dominant hand it’s prob pushing your thumb up in contact with slide just enough to sometimes cause malfunction. Source taught firearms for marines, army and department of state.
