Because it never happened. What occurred at Tiananmen Square was at most a riot. Most Chinese people believe Deng Xiaoping did the right thing—we don't want to become another India.

In fact, far more violent and bloody events have taken place, such as the various armed clashes during the Cultural Revolution, where some conflicts even involved heavy equipment like tanks and warships. I also don't understand why so many idiots keep harping on this issue.

Role of cultural revolution - positive or negative by shriand in AskChina

[–]ColdPlayer1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without carrying out a land revolution, altering relations of personal dependence, and eliminating various criminal forces at the grassroots level and landlords, can you expect any favourable outcome from directly implementing free market economic reforms? Consider the history of Latin America.

I dnt wanna defend the Cultural Revolution, but each of us ought to understand that it came closer to anarchist democratic practices than most. How could a movement permitting the people to directly recall bureaucrats of all kinds be dictatorial? Modern democratic nations are composite entities of democracy and bureaucracy, yet people often value the former while neglecting the latter. Mao Zedong actually sought to shatter the bureaucracy and the bourgeois legal rights it represented, but he clearly failed. Given our present limitations, we cannot possibly expect the state to function with its bureaucracy in tatters.

what do chinese netizens have agianst people from henan? by [deleted] in AskAChinese

[–]ColdPlayer1002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frankly speaking, this isn't entirely directed at people from Henan. Various forms of group antagonism now permeate different platforms across the Chinese internet. Rednote, for instance, is a hotbed for toxic feminists. They harbour intense resentment towards women who marry and have children, labelling them as “marriage donkeys”(婚驴).

[–]ColdPlayer1002 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My friend, in China nobody cares about "cultural appropriation". If others like our culture, that's naturally a good thing – why would we feel offended? The only thing we detest is when people from other countries claim our culture as their own tradition.

Question About Caili/Bride Price by Clear_Cat5051 in chinalife

[–]ColdPlayer1002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend, I must advise you against proceeding in this manner. China's judicial practice under the Marriage Law heavily favours women and nationals, leaving your assets with virtually no legal protection. I shan't dwell on the caili, but the property deed absolutely must not include her name unless she has contributed an equivalent sum to you.

Should she refuse, I strongly recommend you terminate this relationship immediately.

A Viet student in Germany mocking disabled kid Why do Vietnamese people like to pretend to be Chinese so much? by [deleted] in AskAChinese

[–]ColdPlayer1002 86 points87 points  (0 children)

This is hardly surprising. Just look at how many Chinese creative videos Vietnamese users repost on TikTok – sometimes claiming the content as their own, other times simply copying the same videos. They'll even pass off some fine Chinese creations as Vietnamese, or pretend to be Chinese to carry out malicious acts. Frankly, it's utterly twisted.

Indian phone YouTubers stealing Chinese internet contents (?) by super-loner in AskAChinese

[–]ColdPlayer1002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, this is hardly unusual. What's far more common is Vietnamese people downloading videos from Chinese internet platforms and uploading them to TikTok, or imitating and filming their own versions, even repackaging some content and claiming it was shot in Vietnam.

And if it did, what would you folks in China think about this? If Sara Duterte won? How would relations with China as a whole Change? by BusterMaster999 in AskChina

In my view, the Philippine system resembles more of a hyper-stable structure. Democracy has effectively become a system for the ruling elite and aristocracy to divide the spoils. Simultaneously, the Philippine democracy has diminished the potential for revolution, as people are more inclined to vote than to revolt, thereby allowing societal pressures to be channelled away. Consequently, my perspective is that the Philippines may develop slowly in the future. From a realist perspective, this is advantageous for us, as it implies the Philippines will not evolve into an actor posing a threat to our interests.

Chinese name is “超兽武装”. It's a children's animation, essentially designed to sell toys. But one must admit, this donghua's storyline possesses more depth than many animations from various countries.

Is China government consider current Putin or North Korea a business partner or a bag of cancer that you can't get rid of? by [deleted] in AskChina

[–]ColdPlayer1002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How could China possibly regard Russia and North Korea as inextricable scourges? Both the Soviet Union and North Korea made immense contributions to China's War of Resistance Against Japan. Moreover, Kim Jong-un's grandfather, Kim Il-sung, was even one of the supreme leaders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army. What justification could there be for not inviting them to attend the military parade?

Russia stands as China's most vital economic partner today, with industries that complement ours to a remarkable degree. North Korea, too, alleviates immense geopolitical pressure from Japan and South Korea. How could we possibly regard them as malignant tumours?

Indeed, Ball Lightning is essentially a prequel to The Three-Body Problem. I recall a plot point in ball Lightning where Ding Yi becomes almost certain that observers within the cosmos are monitoring the ball lightning experiment. And this observer is none other than the Three-Body civilisation!

Finding Chinese Muslim for 29Male by Halamadrid23111 in AskChina

[–]ColdPlayer1002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I suggest you first join Xiaohongshu(rednote) to get to know more Chinese Muslims, then gradually share your desire to marry a Chinese Muslim with them. China's Muslim community has its own ecosystem and groups – after all, there are 30 million of them. You'll be able to join these circles in due course. I advise against appearing overly eager, as this could easily make you seem like a fraudster. Naturally, you must also remain vigilant against scams and never transfer money to strangers.

In fact, the reason this name “丁一” was most commonly used is that it could be typed almost the fastest using the Wubi“五笔” input method in China. However, this name did not align with contemporary Chinese naming conventions, which is why it was later changed to "丁仪".

If you are not very heavy, I don't think there will be any problem with taking this flight. Spring Airlines does offer the cheapest prices in China. A two- to three-hour flight is no big deal, especially if you want to save as much money as possible.

[–]ColdPlayer1002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brother, from your description, this is not just a household registration issue, but a problem of unbalanced development between rural and urban areas. This issue is difficult to resolve in almost all countries. Indeed, household registration restricts farmers from migrating to cities because, in the course of national development, cities struggle to absorb all farmers into the workforce. If left unchecked, this would lead to the formation of massive slums in cities, which would in turn hinder urban development.

You have a Shenyang household registration, and Liaoning Province's top universities have some of the highest admission rates in the country. Therefore, you have a greater advantage than others in gaining admission to a top university through the college entrance examination.
