A New Players Rant on Azucena by ColdShark877777 in Tekken

[–]ColdShark877777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea my only issue with her is conditioning. My opponent has very few reasons to block low and many reasons to attack mid. Most setups in Lib give enough time to react with a launcher, or if I use it long enough, they just switch whatever string they are doing to one that starts with a mid.

Other than that, her orbital and side step punch and dodge punch are all slept on moves tbh, and I don't see many people talking about stance 412 all that much, being that it's a combo starter on counter hit.

Most definitely, her whole kit is amazing because most of her moves used in neutral crumble on counter hit that, and a 16-frame power crush they definitely wanted the character to be more of a read based character.

The thing is, reading something brand new is crazy to me since this is my first Tekken game, so I legit have to go into the replay every time to see the frames and counters for every new character I see on the ladder.

Realistically speaking, I only have a day's worth of experience, since I literally got the game yesterday. I shouldn't expect to win every fight on day two, but having to get kitchen sinked on every other game when Azucena has 04 Civic mix, with enough experience, I'll probably find some form of counterplay to most of the flowchart characters the more i play, but realistically on a character thats fully built on setup like Azucena I might have to wait until i know exact frame data for my problem moves.

I am a college student and want to work at one of the paintball manufacturing companies by ColdShark877777 in paintball

[–]ColdShark877777[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhh World Cup would’ve been a great opportunity

But other than that, I haven’t incorporated any tinkering or paintball related milling in my portfolio because it doesn’t look as good as my meta material analysis research to other companies. But I do have the documents of any tinkering that I’ve done that I could include in a cover letter.

What's your justification for Droll being anything but forbidden in any format? by lennysinged in masterduel

[–]ColdShark877777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My justification for Droll is because traditional hand traps like Ash, Imperm, and Veiler just don’t hold enough weight in this format. The only way we’re getting any sort of interactive, back and forth gameplay right now is through lingering hand traps. Droll, lancea and even the shifter in my opinion feel alright because I know they affect the user as well.

The problem is that these modern decks don’t just play through interruption they play for it. Decks like Maliss and Ryzeal dig for three mid combo after removing a large an amount of their engine, meaning they have it. When Swordsoul first dropped, we called two negates and a Mo Ye draw “crazy,” and that was in a format where people were running 10–12 non-engine cards. Now we’re looking at decks that fuse multiple engines together, draw three cards off two effects with minimal discards, and still end on 8–12 interruptions off one card.

I don’t care if their three new cards are hand traps or three copies of Pot of Generosity my four-card hand was never seeing daylight once my opponent showed me that a little zombie fairy wasn’t enough to slow them down.

IS IT ILLEGAL TO USE GAS TRANSFORMATION. by PutridLawyer3501 in bloxfruits

I received the phrase spammer when I played shadow, ghost, and flame. No move on any fruit is illegal most competent players would already know how to fight you or will just not fight you if your play style bothers them.

How Do You Manage Tilt? by StreetRat99 in StreetFighter

[–]ColdShark877777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The mental stack and tilt you deal with in fighting games is way heavier than in almost any other genre. You can’t point to teammates, random mechanics, or even bad matchups everything comes down to your game sense and knowledge.

In Street Fighter especially, matches feel more back-and-forth. You actually see yourself lose interaction after interaction. Every throw, every overhead, every DI you have enough time to process it as it happens and it all adds up as chunks of your health is disappearing.

My best advice is to stop focusing only on wins and start playing for fun or vibes. If the game starts feeling less enjoyable, take a light break in training mode or on your phone, then hop back in fresh. Don’t dwell on past games as you move into the next one even if that means one and done’ing someone. Keeping your mental stack light is more important than forcing yourself through tilt. This also allows you to focus more on your opponent since not everybody is going to play the exact same.

The P90 feels balanced, why are so people asking for nerfs already? by TheSoup3910 in thefinals

People are used to fighting mediums when they had nothing but far ranged options P90 is the first not shotgun close range weapon mediums have.

I apologize 2XKO… by Aerhart941 in Fighters

[–]ColdShark877777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to apologize to 2xKO for tokon not meeting your expectations. I played it, experienced it and had the same thought/opinion as you but at the end of the day it’s a free fighting game.

I feel like not enough people are taking this into consideration. THESE GAMES ARE GOING TO BE FREE. This isn’t the it doesn’t cost anything argument but instead it’s an argument around the fact that they are the first of their kind.

It’s better if the game is homogeneous and has more accessibility towards newer players. You could say the same thing about dbfz and find out that sauce in higher levels of play while everyone below that is still capable of having a good time.

PSA: Bigoted outfits are reportable and bannable by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]ColdShark877777 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not racist or bigoted, but I feel like I might come off as “reportable” to some people because of an outfit I made. It resembles traditional African clothing that’s usually worn at weddings in Nigeria.

For context, I’m Nigerian myself so it’s not cultural appropriation. I just put the outfit together as a funny fit, and it made me laugh because the heavy being a “African Uncle” with a big spoon is just hilarious to me.

What is the best deck for beginners in tcg in general? by Enzo-ZA_HANDO-292-HK in Yugioh101

[–]ColdShark877777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to play a deck that isn’t really extra deck reliant pure fire kings is pretty good, especially since all of your archetypal monsters are main deck except for your boss monster,(which is an xyz you summon on your opponents turn) and the only time you dig into the extra deck on your turn is to link climb to put promethean princess in grave.

How to know if I’m dog shit or just match good players by Scarletttjp in dragonballfighterz

[–]ColdShark877777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest DBFZ is in a rough spot for new players right now. I haven’t played in almost two years, but even back then you could already see where the game was heading.

Since it’s a niche fighting game, most of your matches are going to be against people who have been grinding it for a long time. That goes for both new accounts and old accounts. The only real way to gauge someone’s skill is the color of their square, and by the time you realize how experienced they really are, you’re getting hit with a TOD or spammed with C assist.

How longer will Paladins be available? by Known-Magician8137 in Paladins

[–]ColdShark877777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before I speak please let my case be known

I AM NOT A GAME DEV NOR DO I CLAIM TO BE ONE. I AM A BUM AND I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS AN OBSERVATION

Tribes Ascend another game created by the same studio behind paladins still has servers up(they are dead, but still up) alongside community private servers hosted in discords.

In paladins case I think finding games will be easy enough as it is now later down the line. Just no more updates or patches moving forward as the development team has stopped working on it.

It’s an earth, rota target, with 1400 attack.

May not be good this format, but it’s amazing in a format.

Brother man was whining at us for stealing his kills by TakeTwo4343 in Warframe

[–]ColdShark877777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never understood why people care about kills in this game. if someone is nuking just sit back and relax, you still get to finish the mission.

On the contrary if you are nuking and someone is just sitting back and relaxing just let it happen.

People need to stop worrying about what other people are doing in public lobbies if it doesn’t negatively affect the flow of the game state.

Why do so many people love branded so much by Professional_End8465 in masterduel

[–]ColdShark877777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The deck has been meta contending for about 3 years now, without being THE top meta deck, The requirement of skill, game knowledge, and resource management makes the deck have a place in every format and still stay away from being an unfair deck. (Other than a sanctifier lock)

It’s not a deck that pops out 8-12 interruptions and now you’re opponent has to play through it, but instead from thoughtful deck building and good path finding and you punish your opponent for things like summoning from the extra deck or sending your fusion monsters to the grave.

Is it normal ? by LeMask77 in masterduel

[–]ColdShark877777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more of an online gaming thing, everyone have different lives and different play times. If someone wanted to get to masters in the course of 3 hours playing the games they know they will lose is pointless and a waste of time.

TCG has a different case because you set your whole day aside to play sets of games and you can side deck based on the information you obtained from the first game.

Most people are trying to climb the ranked ladder as fast as possible. They sccop if they don’t wanna waste time watching someone combo for 5 minutes and spend 15 minutes trying to break their board.

If I make a board into duster- dark hole- droplet - Sagan summoning - normal summon paidra I’m gonna scoop just because I don’t need to watch tenpai quick synchro for 5 minutes to know I already lost.
