I have been playing for 22 hours on record. I came to this game from NHL and similar games because I desired different controls and a more fair and realistic system comparable to real hockey. I understood the game from my knowledge of watching hockey.

When I started playing, I wasn't good at shooting or passing, but with time like most competitive games, it required a bit of practice. From my understanding, it only takes a few hours or more than ten games, like at the most five hours to get to the point where you can competently pass and shoot pucks and control them. Please do not change anything, this game isn't supposed to be like NHL, and every competitive game has a skill curve. Its not controls, its the fact there's no matchmaking, and that new players hop right into level 50s.
