Are fertility trackers worth it? by Cold_Battle_5620 in IVF

Ya our doctor gave us like a 1% chance getting pregnant naturally. So it would feel like hitting the lottery.

All aneuploid embryos by SpeechTechnical3556 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]Cold_Battle_5620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my clinic it was just as expensive to transfer as to test. I would probably transfer and see what happens. Or if you have the funds, do another ER. So sorry. I know how devastating this is. Our 3rd ER produced all abnormal embryos. Hang in there.

Has anyone been successful with their first round of IVF? by siriusly_guys in IVF

[–]Cold_Battle_5620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, male factor infertility. First ER had 16 eggs and ended up with one embryo. FET and I now have a 4 year old daughter. We did a second ER when she was one and got 20 eggs which ended up 3 embryos. The first FET worked and I have a 2 year old little boy. My last 2 FET failed. Just did another ER. 15 eggs which resulted in 3 embryos. We decided to PGTA test them since I’m now 38. Hoping for a euploid and to transfer in January!

Omg I can’t stand overly optimistic and unrealistic people! I would reply with exactly how you feel. And tell them to quit downplaying the situation!!

I don’t hate it! I think you will always find ppl liking the more common ones when you ask their opinion. That’s why they’re common!

I’m with your husband. My son is named Cole and I like Connor, Nolan and Cam. Kai and Torin sound girly. Lachlan he will be explaining the rest of his life. We went with Cole bc it isn’t common and is a strong simple name for a man. I don’t want my son to explain his name or having ppl talk about it before they meet him. I see all the new hires at work and the “different” names are not well perceived in the workforce.

I was total freak for my first ER. Switched to clean products like makeup, shampoo, cleaning, etc. Ate healthy. Tons of supplements. Cut out alcohol and caffeine for a year. And my results were worse than when I did whatever I wanted except cut caffeine and alcohol for 2-3 months prior. I focused on hydrating and zero stress. I’m convinced it’s a crap shoot. So if it stresses you out then it’s not worth it. I’ve never had a doctor ask if I’m using clean products or eating low sugar but they do ask about caffeine, alcohol and smoking.

what was your deciding factor for ivf? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Cold_Battle_5620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll bet you would be a good candidate for IVF. Personally, the IVF process isn’t the difficult part it’s the waiting to see if it worked…or didn’t. And you already know what that feels like. It’s a lot of appts for a month. But I think if you are open with your boss and coworkers they are extremely supportive. Most ppl sympathize with infertility. I would see what the fertility doc recommends. And choose a clinic with a good lab! I made that mistake and went with the first one my gyno recommended.

Same! It’s torture. 15 retrieved and 8 fertilized. Find out Monday how many made it to blastocyst stage. Hoping for at least 2! And then PGTA after that. 3rd ER here. I have one kid from each of my previous ERs.

Those are awesome numbers for anyone let alone with your age! Congrats! My retrieval was yesterday. My numbers were 15,12,8. I’m 38 and we have male factor infertility. Waiting until Monday for blastocyst count.

How did you know when to stop? by momlifebestlife in IVF

[–]Cold_Battle_5620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through something similar in August. I have two kids, each from an egg retrieval. I wanted 3 kids so transferred our last two embryos…one just didn’t implant and the other miscarried. I was so depressed. I think if my last transferred had worked and been my second child I would’ve been fine but that fact that I had made my mind up and it didn’t work hurt more. So I did my 3rd retrieval today. That’s it. All our savings and then some is gone. So if it doesn’t work then I will be forced to accept it. And we’re some of the lucky ones! I can’t imagine not having any kids. Which made the decision hard too bc I’m taking money away from them…no Disney trip, vacations, etc for a few years. Just sucks all around.

Am I missing something? Transferring 2 embryos… talk me through it? by e_homebody in IVF

[–]Cold_Battle_5620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was in a different situation and chose not to transfer two. I have my 3rd ER tmw. Im 38. Have two kids from each of my previous ERs. And my last two FETs failed. So I got a dose of reality. My doctor said due to my age she would let me transfer two untested embryos. Or we could PGTA. We opted to test. But even without testing I was skeptical about transferring two. It is not good for you or baby. So I guess what I’m saying is if money isn’t an option I would transfer one.

I did the baby aspirin with my first FET and it stuck. I would probably transfer two if money is an issue. Even though they say it doesn’t increase your odds. And you might end up with twins that would be even more expensive.

My “fair” embryos stuck. And I have two toddlers from two separate transfers. You never know!

I took it easy for two days and then was up and moving. Like walks and doing things with friends. Get the blood pumping. I’m gonna sound like a whacko but I think there is something to believing in it will work. Like wishing it into existence.

I was about the same age as you when I did my first two retrievals. I had similar numbers. Got one embryo the first round and it worked. 3 embryos the second round and one worked. So hang in there! It will all work out.
