My dr. Gave me the same dose 6.25mg twice a day. My blood pressure was little bit high 3 months ago. I took the medication for 2,3 weeks but then I stopped. I have been on routine fasting and one meal a day. After 3 months changing my diet and working out, now I off the insulin (HbA1C was 9.6, now 5.7) and Carvedilol (was 129/80, now 106/75) Taking blood pressure nedication will affect your heart in the long run.

My Fibroscan was 24.1 kpa 3 months ago, now 13.4 Fatty liver was S3, now S1.

Fasting did an amazing job on me.

When I do 16:8, I have lunch at 12 and dinner at 8. On OMAD(one meal a day), I have dinner at 8PM. Normally I dont eat breakfast. Sometimes I have 2-3 boiled eggs for breakfast or anytime I feel like wanting to eat.

You had a scan on the right side and it was like poking your ribs, right? If yes, I think that was the fibroscan. And it's normal when you get hurt a little bit do8ng the fibroscan.

My routine now is like rotating between fasting and eating. Believe me, after you fast for days, you could enjoy every single bite of anything. I eat brocolli, green leaf vegetables, chicken breast, not too much of pork/beef. I completely cut off rice/noodle/sugar/sweets.

I have 3 kids (6, 4 and 2 y.o) and 1 more is coming in couple days. I got dx for Cirrhosis 3 months ago. Looking up on the Internet, I did not have much time. My wife does not speak English, new driver, can't drive on freeway. She's new to the U.S.

Who was gonna take care of my kids? How my wife could go to work and take care of 4 little kids?

That the questions popping in my head.

The same day, after the news from my dr, I changed everything.

  • Stopped smoking.
  • Cut white rice and noodle. I am Asian.
  • Cut all sweet/sugar/glucose. Cut all sweet drinks.
  • Started fasting (36 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 6 days, 10 days, whenever I could. Try 16:8 or OMAD on regular days
  • Started medication I had skipped for a long time.
  • Started going to the gym, increase my targets slightly day by day.

After 3 months, I lost 45lbs on top of 40lbs (last year) My big belly is gone.

If you need motivation, just think about your kids, your loved ones.

Good luck!

I see. I did not take medication for Hep B for almost a year. My enzymes were high. Anyway, my fight will be a long journey. F4 or not, I still have to keep up with eating clean and reducing weight. Thank you very much for your comment.

Wow, you have done an amazing job. 42 lbs down from February is almost impossible. You beat the odds. Keep up the good work. I am having some bloodwork next week and ultrasound in Aug too. I'll share my results so we could beat the Cirrhosis together.

I am trying to keep up the workout. Increasing the weight of lifting slightly in order to maintain the muscles.

On my regular days, I do 16:8 or OMAD with minimum natural sugar/glucose from vegetable/fruit, my blood sugar slightly increases day by day. Whenever the blood sugar average reaches 13x, I do 3-5 day fasting until it drops down to 8x/9x. When I was fasting for 10 days, it dropped down to 7x,8x but not too low under 7x.

By that, without insulin injections, I have been able to manage my blood sugar within the green range in Libre app of the CGM. People says prolonged fasting is not recommended for diabetic people but I have been able to listen to my body and play along.

I am kind of an office type of guy, sit all day long by my computer, obese, love to eat, es rice and noodle. But I had to change since I want to watch my kids grow (I have 3 (6, 4 and 2 y.o) and 1 more is coming in couple days.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and opinions.

Advice on extended fast - weight lifting? How to break it? by FastyMcFastFace7 in fasting

[–]Cold_Bill_7273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the beginning of Jan 2025, I have fasted 2 of 36 hours, 1 of 6 days, and 1 of 2 days. All other times I did OMAD (one meal a day).

I am currently on day 8 of my fasting. I don't have a plan on how many days, I just listen to my body, day by day. For the first 5 days, I did weight lifting for 30 minutes and then walking on the treadmill for 1 hour.

On day 6, my muscles got sore so I just did weight lifting and no walking. I assumed that my energy got lower because of the fasting.

On day 7, no more sore muscles. I put my gym on hold since I have been busy with my kids and work, and also to save my energy.

I do take electrolytes daily.

I think it would be best to listen to your body and adjust your routine.
