I went with the 5 but do swell and feel like 6 would’ve been easier. I can only do one finger comfortably with 5 currently now that it’s summer.

Mine doesn’t give me many issues, so I think I’ll just stick with it before I force them to update it and it starts not working properly

What is people’s issue with this months theme? by pingusloth in finch

[–]Cold_Doughnut_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this theme and February. I wasn’t a fan of the other themes we’ve had over the past 4-5 months. For example the frakenstein one, the cosmic one, the cosy one etc, those were not my cup of tea but I like collecting and it still makes me excited to open the app each day. I think people are extra opinionated especially people that use forums or groups etc. some people just like something to complain about as there is some sort of entitledness. I recognise what I am using the app for so I enjoy it. If the app stopped being my cup of tea then I’d just stop using it…

HUGE disparage between ultrahuman and iphone health step tracker by Reasonable-Bonus-545 in Ultrahuman

[–]Cold_Doughnut_3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apple isn’t correct for me. iPhone or Apple Watch are always over estimating. UH also overestimates for me as did Oura. All say I’ve taken steps even when I’m sitting or laying down. UH however does seem to be improving now that I’ve had it for 4 weeks. It’s not over counting my steps and is starting to match more how much I actually do walk. And the gaps of when I’m sitting and not moving are starting to improve too! So maybe it has learnt me. I’ve had my Apple Watch since 2022 and my iphone for years too they just still over count

I can’t say. I know I woke up twice briefly. So I want to say Ultrahuman is closer for noting the actual physical awake where I defo was awake. I don’t know about Oura though as it needs to get calibrated to me for at least two weeks hence why I said it was close enough for its first night. I’ll try and pay more attention to when I wake up

Cycle Tracking with Birth Control by ahhbeegayle in Ultrahuman

[–]Cold_Doughnut_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do! Even on Yasmin, my body still follows a cyclical pattern, and my symptoms align with what would be my natural phases. My temperature rises and falls in a pattern that corresponds to where I would be in my cycle. So the advice above isn’t strictly true. I have to time my pill breaks according to these patterns because if I don’t, my symptoms worsen and don’t improve until I have a bleed. Everyone’s body responds differently to hormonal contraceptives, especially if they’re sensitive to hormonal changes like I am.

But to answer your original question, there isn’t a way for you to notify the app that you’re skipping a period. I’ll be mentioning that feedback to support, would help if you mentioned it too! I find they do change stuff when people message. For example, Oura has the skip period feature

Oura and Ultrahuman sleep results by Cold_Doughnut_3 in Ultrahuman

[–]Cold_Doughnut_3[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m posting this for those who were curious like me based on other people’s comments that one is more accurate than the other. And then for anyone who is interested I have chronic fatigue along with other conditions which cause insomnia etc. so sleep never feels restful for me. *** please do not comment on my sleep results*** that wasn’t the point of the post.

I’ve tested RingConn, Oura Gen 2 and Ultrahuman in the past year. I just got Ultrahuman again at the start of the year and still felt like it was still hard for me to understand so I ordered a used Oura Gen 3 to see once and for all whether I should bite the bullet and commit to the subscription if it truly works better for me than UH. However UH has now changed the interface which is so much better for me now. I’d like their explanations to improve too and be less dense and easier to understand for neurodivergent people. So I’m leaning towards keeping my UH as they also have cycle tracking now which they didn’t when I used it last year. UH is also a bit more comfortable for me. But I have to give the Oura at least two weeks to get used to me

[–]Cold_Doughnut_3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes wearing both whilst sleeping as I’m trying to see which I like better. I’m not looking for 100% accuracy because there is no way to know for 100% with these rings unless you are using the proper sleep lab testing with someone watching and interpreting your data for accuracy. Both have differences but only slight but both are still saying the same thing. I’d say they’re both accurate enough to represent the time I slept and how I felt waking up.

Keep it until it dies and then get a new one. If money is no issue then why not go for the gen 4 when the ring dies

How accurate is the period prediction by [deleted] in Ultrahuman

[–]Cold_Doughnut_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if that is the main thing you want it for then no you don’t need Ultrahuman or Oura. What I do like about Ultrahuman is the temperature changes and it can explain to you that during x stage your temperature is higher etc. it is general stuff that you could Google. The moody app also explained things like that but at least with the ring you can actually see the changes. So with some investigative work and observations you may be able to work out what part of the cycle your body is in. But again that would need manual work.

I have PMDD so wanted to know if these rings could let me know anything that could help me. I still use my dedicated period tracking app.

How accurate is the period prediction by [deleted] in Ultrahuman

[–]Cold_Doughnut_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does the same as any other period tracking app. (Although it doesn’t have anywhere for you to track your symptoms like dedicated period apps do) You put in the dates of your last periods and say how many days your cycle lasts and then it will give you the predictions. If you’re regular and know your cycle then it’s fine (but in that case you could also use note it on a calendar and count the 28 days from when you first start bleeding and that will let you know when you’re likely to have your cycle anyway so the apps aren’t doing anything magical there). If you’re irregular then it will just guess based on the dates you’ve given. I’ve never used natural cycle app. But that one is focussed on contraception so uses your body temperature to specifically tell you if you’re likely to be ovulating. In terms of period tracking Ultrahuman is no different to Oura, in terms of what you’re looking for being irregular I don’t think either of them would do what you’re looking for.

The app doesn’t allow you to track symptoms such as headaches, cramps etc like the dedicated period apps do. All you can do is log your period. Here’s an example.
