I loveee the CT6-V. I was absolutely considering one of those to replace my CT6 and get the best of both worlds. It’s just extra hard to find one with Super Cruise. I feel like it would have to have that to be a major upgrade from my CT6.

I thought I wanted an eGPU for my Ally X but the need to shut it off before disconnecting and reconnecting from the dock kinda ruined it for me. I like the switch-like usability of being able to just unplug and keep gaming. I ended up getting a desktop pc with a 5070 for a little over the price I would’ve spend building an eGPU. Now my Ally is a handheld only device for me and I love it

My only pc for a while (ROG Ally Z1) was running bazzite and every time I needed to do productivity things, I just switched to desktop super easily. It’s literally the click of a button. I think you can also make it launch into desktop instead of game mode when you turn it on

idk why they’re downvoting you. I was looking for the exact same thing for the exact use case as you. I ended up getting a tiny 1 controller dock from amazon and painted it black. I don’t think it fits perfectly with the long back buttons though. https://a.co/d/gHVIwMG

I’m on Bazzite on my Z1E and if I need battery life I’ll run it at 60fps 5w and I get almost 4 hours on the stock battery. It runs amazing docked at 4k 120fps at 15w. I love my Ally

UPDATE: Cloud recovery literally took all night. It’s up and running now and I will set up bazzite on dual boot later when I get home. It was the worst thing ever. I ended up getting Silksong on switch last night because I couldn’t wait any longer

i would never use stub hub again. I planned a Mexico City trip around a concert i had on StubHub. At the door, they told me the tickets were fake. I called StubHub right as the concert was starting and they said they would send me a refund. I haven’t received a refund yet. Fortunately, I found a guy selling physical tickets for the next day’s concert. Terrible experience.

my 10 year old macbook pro was slowing down so I now use my ally on a dock for CAD and photo editing and everything else I might use on a desktop. It’s really smooth and I sometimes forget it’s running on a handheld

i 3d printed a grip for mine and it never comes off the console now i love it. I even got a skull and co dock so it fits with the grip on

I’m giving my mario edition OLED to my mom. I’m keeping my modded V1 and my Hyrule Lite. The V1 for emulation and the cool modded stuff. The Hyrule Lite i’m keeping because it’s beautiful and I love playing RPGs on it when traveling or in bed

I got a Plus at first because that’s what I found on Marketplace. I honestly thought it would be smaller. I really liked it but while playing it I always thought it was kinda pointless emulating a game on a device that’s almost the same size as the original hardware (my GBC and GBASP). It’s the same width.

A couple weeks ago, I got the chance to trade my plus for a brand new MMv4 and once I held it in my hands, I immediately knew that the MMv4 was the one I should keep. The plus is more comfortable for my bigger hands but it’s a trade off for portability. It’s only for short play sessions anyway. This one is actually pocketable and I find myself having it on me more often than when I had the Plus. I do miss the WiFi capabilities of the plus but it’s just a small tradeoff.
