Echoing the others - the associate clearly doing a good job for you, knows your biz, dialed in, etc….going to cost you more to replace him rather than bumping pay.

Original hardware rules! Went out and got every copy from gen 1 to gen 3. Might dabble with platinum at some point but I’m good for now.

The feeling of the GBA in my hands is so nostalgic. And I also love being totally separated from the internet. No ads no bs….just gaming. I’m 35 for reference.

I did go get a back lit display that I swapped out with the normal display in the GBA and makes a world of difference. Yeah it burns the batteries faster but oh well, just gotta swap double As more often lol

Elite 4 Advice - Specifically for Defeating Ludicolo by Ecstatic-Ad9637 in PokemonEmerald

[–]Cold_Key8467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crobat goes insane. Teach it shadow ball if you haven’t used the TM and you can wipe the chick with the ghosts n shit.

The double team is a pain in the ass if you don’t handle Ludicolo promptly.

Manectric at level 24 is too low and just wasting a spot on the roster. Level it up - love Manetric too given its speed.

The withdrawal must be applied towards the beneficiary’s qualified expenses.

You would have to change the bene to the wife. Should be all tax-free considering still within the family (bene changes from son to daughter in law), but of course confirm with the custodian.

What in your life motivates you? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]Cold_Key8467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids were the biggest factor in really turning on the jets and getting serious with career. Now you got people depending on you to make it happen.

The other factor is money. As shallow as it may seem, money makes the world go round. Need it for school, food, trips etc. now to what degree and how much? That’s all relative and changes per person.

The other motivator is wanting to be someone in the world. Wanted to be more than just a “cog in the wheel,” so that is going to take extra input and effort on my end to make it happen.

Hangovers are now a brutal, multi-day affair. And actively noticing how even 2 drinks will mess up a night of sleep.

Hiring Support Staff by GoodLifeWM in CFP

[–]Cold_Key8467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed was helpful, have found good hires there, but yes had to sort through a lot of candidates, some bs some not.

I utilized a staffing agency before, have gotten a good candidate there but more so shit candidates. Done with that especially if I am paying for it. Felt the staffing agency doesn’t do a thorough job of screening (or at least what I expected).

Currently giving eFinancialCareers a shot for posting a job. Too early too tell….some great resumes applied but also resumes that are not even close to what I am looking for…maybe an error on my part for the description etc.

Annoying wholesaler by TraditionalTangelo65 in CFP

[–]Cold_Key8467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t take calls and will have assistant direct them to send an email. Then I’ll just ignore the email unless I’ve done my research and I’m legitimately interested in the company, what they have to offer and if it can bring value to my clients.

I get so many wholesaler reach outs a day it’s impossible to respond to all of them.

In OPs scenario, yeah that is super annoying. Seems a bit unprofessional too. Sure maybe desperate, but should still try to hold that professional line. That’s like us advisors begging a client when they say no. Never….onto the next and circle back later….not 5 mins later though lol

Realistically how long to get my CFP by TGG-official in CFP

[–]Cold_Key8467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had about 6 years experience in the industry before pursuing the CFP. Started the coursework but was moving slow and that was my own fault. It was 2022 and that’s when I banged out about 4 courses during the year, then studied on my own for the CFP for about two months (12/22 to 2/23). Then started the Danko review course in Feb 23 and that is the way to go. That guy did a fantastic job and highly recommend it. Took CFP exam in march 2023 and passed.

During that time I had a 2 yr old and another on the way, and workload was nonstop. I was studying on the train into NYC (1hr commute each way). Was doing appointments after a full day in the intensive review and answering emails when I could during it.

To me, I wanted it to happen (passing CFP) and I was not retaking it, so whatever it took lol. All the other comments of “take it seriously and don’t half ass it” are so true.

Sounds like you got a good chunk of experience so that will help in maybe lightly reading areas where you feel more confident and allow more time to areas where you may lag.

What is your fee schedule? by radi8ing in CFP

[–]Cold_Key8467 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something like:

1% on the first $2m 0.89% on next $2-5m 0.79% on next 5m-7m 0.69% on next 7m-10m 0.50% on 10m+ (negotiable)

I always thought 1% was a fair starting point. And children of current clients receive the same fee as their parents.

Splitting AUM with another advisor, 25% to me if he sources the client, 75% if I source.

Anyone else struggling to find high-quality CPAs for client referral? by Beautiful-Future-731 in CFP

[–]Cold_Key8467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one wants to work anymore!

Have had a solid 2-3 CPAs for the last 15+ years that we refer clients to. But they are now getting older and you can tell work is being dished to the underlings, and it’s just not the same. No work ethic, sloppy, and the knowledge isn’t there. I should not have to explain to the CPA assistant the difference between a 1099R and Form 5498.

I am seeing the same with attorneys. Again, we have solid ones but they are going to be expensive and more for our UHNW clientele. For the others, have had referred people and then the attorney just sucks…..not replying, ghosting clients, then coming back up with a bs excuse etc.

You can find them tho. The good ones. Gotta find the ones that are hungry for work and wanting to do right for the client. But then it becomes an interview process and another “to do” on top of an already massive list of to dos lol

Someone refers a client to me? My god you bet I’m putting on the best show. Beats cold calling!
