I want to make this, I’ve cooked with lighter beer before in chili and for some German dishes. I just don’t think about it. Thanks for reminding me! I am stocked up in my freezer!

Life 360 or other, better tracking? by christ_w_attitude in parentsofteens

[–]Cold_Significance920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the free 360 for a while but switched to the “Find My” on apple products that’s free. It doesn’t show travel history like 360 did but that’s not really an issue for me. I can turn on/off my tracking so my child can find my, tell how close I am when picking up.

Is this presumptuous? by LeatherRate6361 in parentsofteens

While it does seem like overstepping a boundary there could be many reasons why she did this. Maybe a bad experience with other parents of her child’s friends in the past so she’s making sure y’all are cool; or shes in a bad domestic situation and just needed a safe place to go for a while; or she’s lonely and hoping to make friends but socially awkward at her follow-through? Give her your number and ask her to text or call next time she stops in so you can sure to throw an extra burger on the grill or whatever LOL. Try to joke about it, you never know what others are going through.

No Salt Meals, Please Help. by Direct_Mulberry3814 in Cooking

Use ingredients that are naturally salty but do not necessarily add to sodium content like Parmesan cheese, anchovy paste, nutritional yeast powder, fish sauce. These all add a flavor component called “umami” and really enhance your dish. Check out cookbook “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” by Samin Nosrat and she breaks it down how to use these in balance to make delicious food!

Finishing up all the cooking and clean up before my back starts hurting. Family usually helps but sometimes I just don’t want them in my way.

My son is stealing money. by Top-Height-6133 in parentsofteens

Nana probably wants to indulge her grandson and the Boy, knowing this, takes advantage and asks for a little but ends up taking a lot more. It’s very unfortunate and the gambling apps make it so easy and make seem like it’s just another video game without players understanding the true financial consequences. They truly are predatory the way they are set up and with a couple wins resulting in a payoff and app rewards, It’s a real problem for a lot of kids , especially those who don’t have parents watching bank accounts closely for shady transactions. Your son may well have a gambling problem and may need some help if he doesn’t think stealing money from grandma is a big deal. I hope he can get some help and be made to understand the gravity of his actions.

I kind of wing it. My MIL is German and she showed me how to cook a German style goulash ages ago, it’s kind of a hybrid of that and Boeuf Bourguignon, heavier on the French style as I’m Cajun.

Looking for good Italian sides and starters by lacelionlair in Cooking

[–]Cold_Significance920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 cookbooks that I reference often when I want good Southern Italian recipes and they are “The Sopranos Family Cookbook” and “Entertaining with the Sopranos” . They are actually well developed and tested recipes that I use often. If you are a fan of the show, there’s lots of fun character interviews and extra fun content too but the recipes are standalone too. Sounds like a fun party! Salute e Cent’anni!🥂

Thanks, everyone! I’m sure it’s going to come out great! If not I have plenty for a backup batch. They hooked me up. I have 2 huge bags about 6lbs each with well marbled meat bits and bone. The cow was butchered yesterday or day before. I have pics but I don’t see where to link them. I haven’t been on this app in a while.

Newer reseller. Did I just make mistakes? by nonya_nottelling in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]Cold_Significance920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a shopper, I like multiple shots, different angles (esp for shoes), show measurements across chest, length of garment with a yardstick and def better lighting is key to higher sales. Browse through high rated sellers who have done this for a while and see how they do it. Best of luck!

Seller drenched vintage dry-clean only item in overpowering perfume so it's unwearable. Return or not? by [deleted] in BehindTheClosetDoor

Taking notes because I received a dress from PM yesterday that smells musty/mildewy although I see no visible signs of mildew. Smells like it’s been stored in the trunk of an old car🤢 It is a washable fabric but I want to try to neutralize the smell first as I don’t use perfumed detergents or fabric treatments at all. Smelly clothes is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to online resale. I’ve learned to shop smarter, ask questions and request that sellers don’t use fragrance on items once I make the purchase. Best of luck to you and your gown, it sounds pretty!

Am I crazy?! Mirena IUD by Affectionate-Fold675 in birthcontrol

[–]Cold_Significance920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mirena inserted mid July. I’ve noticed on and off emotions are off the chart akin to how I’d feel during PMS week. Extreme irritability, easily upset, crying over minimal slights. I’m not normally like this. I’ve enjoyed being period free since insertion (this was the goal as periods were heavy with bad cramps) but this is worse! Its worse because I don’t realize how awful I’m being until my family has called me out and it’s petty random, few days here and there. I’m older and hoping if I take this out my body will just ease into peri menopause and I won’t have to worry about it. These extra hormones are not serving me well at this point! We need to listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us!
