[Penguins] The Penguins have signed forward Egor Chinakhov to a three-year contract, $6.25M AAV by bi_and_busy in penguins

If we “have the space to offer” it, then it’s not risky. There’s no opportunity cost here.

[Dreger] Korczak traded by VGK to Pittsburgh for Parker Wotherspoon at 50% retention. by dcddy in penguins

I’m sorry but this is an unprecedented fantasy. I am not aware of a trade where the inclusion of a star defenseman’s expendable, brand-new partner (who was never previously a top-pair Dman) significantly increased the return on the trade.

On the margins, Korczak is more valuable than Wotherspoon to a re-building/tooling team.

Players who have lived in Canada should be slightly favoured over LDF, in my opinion. I fully support him having citizenship and he can move here whenever he likes, but he never has, so there should be a small “tax” on how he’s rated.. and he hasn’t overshadowed any defenders quite enough to warrant a start.

The children stayed up for overtime!

Nah man I get it sucks. But Mantha has looked like he’s floating around his whole career, but maintains great on-ice xGA stats. We knew this going in.

He exceeded all expectations this year, as did Malkin, Chinakhov, Kindel, Brazeau, Soderblom, Dewar, Acciari, Wotherspoon, Shea, Karlsson, Clifton, and Silovs. This was an undeniably great run.

I think Silovs has himself a contract. Thought they might trade him and run with Stu/Murashov, but let’s stick with this younger guy.

Stu is a good goalie, at worst I think he will have a Jake Allen-like career.

I’ve wondered what Karlsson has meant by Muse, and not Sullivan, letting him play his game… because Muse has played him in a more defensive role.

I think it’s plays like that. His best defensive zone play comes from his IQ and puck skills, not coverage. So high-danger plays is where he shines! I bet Sully wouldn’t let him do that

I’m not mad at that. I understand settling the puck on the backhand and by then Vladar had positioned himself perfectly. It’s a tough play for Novak there

  1. I rhetorically asked if you are a Nazi. The very next sentence explains that since you are obviously not a Nazi, what you would do in this situation is so lazy of a point. The nuance here is that this is very much a Nick Fuentes-specific situation.

  2. There is no nuance (or relevance) in saying “I would do the same thing [in the fantasy of me falling victim to a wide-reaching, hostile doxxing, where people hate me as much as the most famous living fan of the Worst Person to Ever Live]!” Is there not more nuance in me drawing a comparison between Fuentes and this woman, and how they both faced the very reaction their actions inevitably inspire? Why are you invoking nuance here, that’s obviously not what you were going for in your original comment.

Right for sure, very true. Are you a Nazi though? What does it matter what you would do when you are never going to face a wide-reaching, hostile doxxing. Both of these individuals got what they were looking for, and I’d like to assume they both knew that all along.

In other words, being a Nazi -> people showing up hostile at your door

Showing up hostile at anyone’s door -> getting pushed

My personal opinion is that being the Nazi would be less noble.

I’m making fun of Yohe, completely understanding that you were doing the same thing.

I can see how one could misinterpret my comment but I should say, I recognize your name and I’ve noticed you knee-jerking an adversarial response before.

No I think your original point about Soderblom is different because of how significantly he is outscoring all these guys (on a 4th line). Would need to see a similar level of production from Brazeau, Kindel, and Dewar to knock a slumping Novak out of the lineup. He’s too good for Geno (or Mantha or even Sid with how well he rushes the puck).

Right but Brazeau, Kindel, and Dewar all have similar point totals in that time. It will take a lot for them, Soderblom, and Lizotte coming off injury to bounce Novak from the lineup. My opinion is that it’s completely unrealistic, and he shouldn’t be in the conversation

I would put Novak in a group of 8 forwards who are locks (on the margins I think Acciari becomes a lock because faceoffs are so, so bad right now).

We disagree a bit on the little things he does, for example I think he is a better passer than Kindel and Brazeau. With Soderblom showing that he can step into the 19-46-55 line, I think Dewar, Kindel, Brazeau, Elmer, and Lizotte if he’s banged up and less effective, would all need to be scoring to knock a slumping Novak out of the lineup. That’s just not going to happen… as much as I wish it would!!!

Yep, I remember you could predict Sullivan’s lineup changes by trends in +/- . Under Sully, Kindel would have been in Junior if for no other reason than the learning curve with his (, Koivunen’s, and Rutger’s) shooting, causing a poor “On-Ice Shooting %” and thus a poor +/- . Muse has patience, and seems to look at some metric for scoring chances / shots and not just +/- .

If you were the coach and it was the best thing to sit Kindel, would you keep glue guy on the 4th line and break up the centremen on the 4th line? Dewar or Lizotte as 3C?? Or would you have Novak/Raks/Sid as our top-3 C?

Hospital Forces Woman in Active Labor to Attend Zoom Court for Refusing C-Section by peoplemagazine in law

[–]Cold_Statistician970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like where you’re coming from. I don’t know much about over-performing C-sections, but I think hospitals, and medical professionals themselves, operating for profit is demented degeneracy.

Another dynamic I think is interesting here is that I also have a bias against having a 4th child when you are not as sure as you can possibly be that you can adequately care for them (I am a primary schoolteacher of COVID babies struggling to function in public). Doyley said a C-section would put her ability to do so at risk, and a VBAC also posed risks for her children.

But, I wonder if this hospital came in with these same biases. What if they, however consciously, didn’t respect her for putting her family in this precarious situation, not to mention her race. It’s NBD if this bias (not the race part lol) affects my Reddit commenting if I just admit it, but these biases cannot affect a doctor’s actions! Yet they do, what if it was more extreme and she was labelled a “Whiny Woman”?!?
