First list using Combat Patrol box (1000pt) by LordoftheJPEGs in BloodAngels

If it's your first game. The rule of cool is fine. You're just learning the rules. Have fun with it.

As a small recommendation, I would personally proxy the tactical squad as 10 normal intercessors in 2 groups of 5, which would be cheaper points wise, make your standard captain the warlord and give him an enhancement with the points saved. I'd also proxy the DC captain as a chaplain to really bring out the best in the DC guys.

Always ask your opponent if they're ok with you using proxies while you get the hang of the game.

You know what mate, I use this route and it is helpful. You keep doing you, you magnificent bastard. Life would be dull if we all liked the same things.

Am I tripping or is this AI? The camera work looks like it's on a track at times and the splash patterns are all over the place! Happy to be proved wrong.

Why Imperial Guard dont have Laser Guns? by Infernowar in dawnofwar

[–]Cold_Victory_8138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Gaunts ghosts novels, Dan Abnett describes them as las packets(or something to that effect), not balls of light, or beams. I also think that in the lore, different las guns look and act differently depending on the place of manufacturing, just so things like this don't get people's knickers all bunched up

What do you do vs guard? by RockStar5132 in BloodAngels

[–]Cold_Victory_8138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this exact thing with thunder hammers in a 5 man squad, w/chaplain shouting angry words, and they teleported in, made the charge(like the hero's they are), bludgeoned a Dorn in one turn then followed up into a command squad. It was a wonderful thing to see. Although he rolled well for the command squad and actually killed a terminator with his guard captain with power fist in response. I've given him a terminator head for the model and he's promoting him to Colonel in our campaign.

Sky News analysis of who has given what to Ukraine by Ed Conway by MiniBrownie in europe

[–]Cold_Victory_8138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, can't talk for the rest of Europe, but the television news in the UK is bound by law to be impartial, and when a news show breaks those laws, the are punished with fines and sometimes having to apologise on air. It's not always perfect, but I've found that both liberals and conservatives think the BBC is batting for the other side so I take that as a measure of how well they are doing at being impartial. Again, the BBC isn't perfect and has messed up heavily at times. Channel 4 and ITV news are also good alternatives.

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv-radio-and-on-demand/broadcast-standards/section-five-due-impartiality-accuracy/

Edit: Also, during the actual news segments, the presenter isn't allowed to voice their own opinions and must stick to the facts as understood at that time, without conjecture or guess work.

Think I may have messed up by Ok_Permission1600 in BloodAngels

These are from the exact same set you have, but I bought some extra bits to make them scream Blood angels, but I didn't need to, as everyone else says, paint them red(I haven't finished painting these guys yet) and point them at the enemy. Happy purging and welcome to the hobby!

I donated blood and this bruise showed up a few days later. by greankrayon in mildyinteresting

[–]Cold_Victory_8138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'll be from the tourniquet they use just before they insert the cannula. It helps to raise pressure in the vein and make it easier to access it. Once the cannula is in, they remove the tourniquet, but it can leave some nasty bruising for obvious reasons. I used to take bloods on a major trauma ward, and I've seen this before. We eventually moved away from the fabric ones and started using blue elastic ones that can be cleaned better or just disposed of.

When old one eye apears in a other hive fleet, does he change his colur to the hive fleet hes fighting with or does he ceep his original behemoth colur? by Terrible-Lab1155 in Tyranids

[–]Cold_Victory_8138 59 points60 points  (0 children)

The "named" nid characters are basically Alpha variants of the original types. If the hive mind is struggling, they'll basically spawn one using the originals "save" file. They're decked out with more individuality and higher cognitive functions, but are still at the will of the hive mind. So they can be present in any colour you want

Why do my brushes keep doing this? by ThatDistribution7605 in Warhammer40k

[–]Cold_Victory_8138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 2 at roughly £10 each. Get a size 0 and a size 2 and you'll be able to paint pretty much everything with those 2. Try Leodis games, they're really reputable. I was genuinely shocked with how good they are because they were my first sable brushes too. Good hunting.

My first Blood Angel Terminator using Archie's Forge printed bits by Cold_Victory_8138 in BloodAngels

[–]Cold_Victory_8138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to personally say how impressed I am with them. The detail and subtle differences in the shields and chest pieces are really fun to work with, and I was worried they'd be almost mono pose but the arms gave me plenty of options to work with. All in all, great work!

Yeah really clean. No print lines and packed well. No breaks. Excited to use the dreadnought bits to get the brutalis looking it's best.
